um, hi

so i haven't posted in like forever. mainly because nothing has happened in my life since i graduated from syracuse. just living at home in ann arbor, with my parents, hating my life :-P i have read at least 10 books, started knitting a scarf (maybe i'll actually finish this one?), and have definitely applied to dozens of jobs. but thanks to our lovely economy going down the tubes, i haven't gotten one yet... i'm planning on moving to NYC the beginning of next year (middle-late january or february) with at least one of my friends who i went to syracuse with. :) so hopefully that works out, and if anything i'll at least by in new york city and not living with my parents...

some random things:
*i really really really hope obama can bring the changes he keeps talking about to our country
*if small, fuel-efficient cars can be made by ford, gm, and many other car companies for europe, and they're reasonably priced, why can't the same companies, that are falling apart here in the states, make those same cars and maybe actually survive the 21st century? (like the 70-something miles per gallon or something ford escort being sold in europe, that is a FORD. a ford for pete's sakes...)
*why has society decided that buying and spending money people don't have to buy things they don't need, become the 'norm'? i'm not a fan, and although i'm not saying we should do everything like the '40s-'50s, maybe we could look at them as an inspiration of sorts?

the end. :)
