*sigh* I didn't think this week would ever end. Work-wise it's the same ol shit. The best is friday around 3:30pm. My cube-mate is hysterically funny and we can casually work while chatting about this and that...usually movies or crazy 80's sing-a-longs. It gets pretty wacky.
Last night we met some friends to go to
the Soap Factory's haunted house. It was pretty good. You have to sign a waiver and can only go in groups of 4. This year, they don't give you flash lights. Basically, it's an old factory (the name duh) that is now an art space. For Halloween they turn the space into a dark, deeply disturbing, self guided maze of "fucking creepy".
There's a point where you are walking through a "field" of dried corn stalks with a strobe light somewhere that messes with your orientation. While fumbling your way through the corn, these clown mask things appear next to you or behind you and it's very startling. You know you are near the end of the corn when you start hearing the angry buzzing of flies....then you have to push your way through bodies wrapped in garbage bags hanging from just about every free space in the ceiling. *shudder* It was very different from what you think of a typical haunted house. While I didn't scream like a little girl (like at the haunted house in Kyoto Toei movie land) it was still one of the best I'd ever been too.
I will be sure to return next year! After that we walked down to 4th & Univ area for some beer time. Ended up spending most of the evening at The Front and taking the upstairs space all to ourselves. It was like a VIP area. Lots of fun!
