Give me a London girl any day

Sep 16, 2005 18:02

Gosh I am so busy all the time...I thought I would have quite a lot of time with nothing to do, seeing as everyone goes to school in the days. But no no, my diary is choc-a-bloc and everything is crazy busy!
This is what I have been up to...
Marzahn on Monday was really fun!! Well actually the main bit I liked was this game with balloons that we played which me and Ines won!!! (she is a new girl.) We had to save our balloon from being burst, but burst everyone elses. And so I had our balloon and I was very good at defending myself despite the fact that I had Kathi and others throw themselves on to me in attempts to get my balloon!!! I was very pleased at my winning achievements. (However later on I lost a mini game of table tennis to Sophie Ciezki!!! I couldnt believe it!!!!!! How could she beat me??! I shall have to play her again on Monday and win!!!) So it was all pretty busy at Marzahn - there are 3 new ones - Ines, Beatrice and another - I forgot her name. And also Annike, Dana, Gunnar, Andreas, Franza etc were all there too. It was meant to be a party for Aliyas Abschied so we played the chocolate game.
On Tuesday I went out for breakfast with Sophie Kord. It was cool to see her and pretty fun, although she is all lonely and stuff but it is really her own fault I think and I tried suggesting a million ways and things to do to not be lonely but she didnt wanna do any of them and so there we go. Also she is reading a book about witches/witchcraft so I was kinda disappointed about that and told her not to read it.
I eventually went back to Bahnhofstrasse and then chatted with Aliya for a while and then we went to the airport. Obviously I was deeply upset at her departure and cried buckets.
Peter was at the airport too and so then I just went back with him to Riager strasse and susa and sanna were there (old lebensladen people.) It was pretty fun chatting with them, they are cool. One of them is about to go off to be a missionary in Russia. Then it all turned into Tuesday night and people came. Fränze came so that was great and I was really pleased she was there, so we just chatted most of the time. I didnt really talk to the others there very much, apart from the english people from cambridge who now come. Mainly I talked to a girl called Laura. We talked in German and she thought I was German at first!!haha. Altogether they were all very Cambridge like and then they talked about politics and other cambridge stuff with peter and I couldnt join in and I went home soon after that.
On Wednesday I went to Coppi and gave out sweets!!! So I saw all the Coppi crew and then I had lunch in the mensa with Franzi and Ines, that was really fun!!
Then I went off the Hellersdorf. First I went to Die Arche, because Peter wants Jeannine to go there next Tuesday so I thought I would check it out. It is MASSIVE and there were loads of kids and teenagers there. I didnt really quite know what the score was so I wondered around a bit and then introduced myself to someone who worked there. Then I walked around some more and left and went to the Kinderheim. Ok so the Kinderheim is REALLY nice inside. Like REALLY nice!!! Jeannines room is really nice - mega comfy bed!! And really nice wardrobe/desk/drawers things. And there is an armchair and a bedside table. It is all so neat and tidy too!! There are 8 children in the kinderheim and next door is a home for girls who have had babies really young. Jeannine said there is a girl who is 13 there with a baby. And underneath is a childrens home for smaller children. Although there are smaller children in Jeannines bit too who are 6 and 8. There is a kitchen/dining area and a lounge. It is all pretty big and very homely. I didnt really expect it to be so homely. I havent ever been to a childrens home before. Although it was all so nice inside it was also so heartbreaking to be there and meet the children and think of all the sadness. There is a girl called Uli there who is 17, she is really cute and told me "Ich finde dich cool!" So that was dead cute and I really thought she was sweet and felt really sad for her messed up life. And I met a girl called Nicole who is at Jeannines school and in her year. Then I saw most of the others I think. I met Frau Popp (not sure if that is spelt right!) who is one of the Erzieherin and she is the one who is responsible for Jeannine. She is nice. She seemed kinda strict and a little harsh, and she had a really strong Berliner accent! But she let me stay longer than usual visitors so that was good. When I first got there and met nicole she asked me which Klasse I am in. So I said I go to uni and she said to Jeannine "wow how come you have such friends who are really old!!" So I said I am 21 and not that old. And she said "Siehst du, rightig alt!!!" That was funny!
Anyway...what else to say about the Kinderheim...Jeannine loves it there and told me to tell everyone not to worry about it. There is gonna be a meeting next week on Friday to see what is going to happen now.

So Patrick came and picked me up from there in the evening and we headed off into town. First we were going to go to a Spanish concert thing at the Kulturbrauerei(there is a music festival called Popkomm here at the moment.) But you had to buy a ticket for 15 euros for all the concerts and we didnt want to do that. It was call to kinda just be there though - I loved the atmosphere and all the stands of sausage and beer and stuff!!!! I love that!! Then we were gonna go to some bar in Prenzlauerberg so we went to it and it wasnt very alive yet so we just walked around Prenzlauerberg for quite a long time talking and then we decided to go to Park Friedrichshain but in the end, once we got to Warschauerstrasse we just went home! But still I definately enjoyed just walking around in Prenzlauerberg and I really wanna live there!!!!!

Yesterday Fränze had no school so we had breakfast together, and Josi too, then she went to her grandparents and I cleaned and stuff ready for thursday night. Then Fränze and I went to Milchkaffee (she had never been there!) and it was LOVELY!!! We talked and talked and I ate a yummy cake!! Then it was time for Lebensladen and it was PACKED OUT!!!!! There was just soooooo many people, it was all crazy busy and there was talk from some people from the Foculari which was interesting, they were really nice. Juliane, Martin and Monique stayed for ages after everyone else had gone and I almost asked them if itd be okay if I talked to Bre on the phone while there was still there chatting, but in the end I didnt and I joined in talking and then eventually started clearing up and by then they either took the hint or wanted to go anyway!!! So then I could phone Bre. wooohooo! (say hello to your roses from me!)

So then today I got up and put of Chaz and Dave really loud!!! I love the songs, they make me laugh so much. People from London are so funny!!!!! My favourite song, apart from obviously my rabbit song, it Down to Margate!!!!! I love that and keep having it in my head all the time!!! Then I like the one about London girls. Wooohooo that is me and we are the best!!! SO I had that on while I was clearing up and then I went out to Peter and Margrits for lunch. We had spag bol and it was the best sauce I had ever had!!!!! I told Margrit that and she said "oh youre just like Bre when she says "that is exactly what I wanted to eat today"" and i think she didnt believe me when I said it was the best ever sauce. But it really was soooooooooooo delicious!! Peter was in a down mood where everything is horrid rather than splendid. Although some of the time was funny too and we laughed!! And it was fun talking to Margrit, she was being all sweet and Margrit like with her cute little phrases!!!
After that I ...... went to Eitelstrasse. Gosh that was all very traumatic, surreal and sad and I cried so I wont write about it. I think I have to go there again next week though to help P and M with sorting out the stuff that is still there and give me opinions on what should be done with what.
But I carried the Liege cushion things back to Bahnhofstrasse so if you sit on our Liege and shut your eyes you can imagine that you are in Eitelstrasse. Well ok, maybe not, but nearly.
And now the twins are gonna be arriving soon for staying over. Then I am meeting up with Xenia tomorrow afternoon and then I am having a girlie night and staying over at Julias, it is all go go go.
And I LOVE being here (apart from the sad times like going to Eitelstrasse and missing the team.) It is so wonderful to be here and everytime I am walking along the street I think how much I love it here, how much I just wanna stay and how much I dont wanna leave Fränze living along in Bahnhofstrasse. And it is such a blessing to be back too because all the teenagers are soooooooooooooooo lovely to me all the time and make such a fuss of me and I feel really spoilt and loved back by it all!! I feel on top of the world. Until I think about going home again, and then I feel sick and sad. So best not think about that.
