Early SOTP to combine carnival/Halloween and November (Stefanie-takes-a-semi-hiatus-but-still-wants-threads month) plans. I... meant to make this brief. It didn't happen. But yeah, if you want any of mine for this month's plot or at all next month, take a look and let me know.
ME
Not a bad month, all in all, even though adjusting to the new schedule also means that I'm starting to stay up later than I should as my body decides I don't really need all that sleep - except right after I wake up and in the middle of my shift, of course, when I want to just go back to bed. I'm still loving my job, though, and the nights fly by mostly. My focus now is on learning to discipline myself to better divide time between work, writing and roleplay.
In that vein, I'll be doing NaNoWriMo next month, as I mentioned. In the interest of focusing on this, I'll be less available for TR. I won't, however, be going on full hiatus, because that just doesn't work. Even when I say I'm going on hiatus, I don't, and I know I'll want to thread sometimes, and writing won't eat up all my free time. I just also don't plan to EP or even tag around much next month. Instead I'll mostly be focusing on private threads, which I don't feel as bad slowtiming but I find easier to be quicker about, probably because when I EP, I usually don't feel I can tag one person on the post unless I have time to tag all of them. So let me know if you need me for anything, and of course, please do feel free to poke me whenever for private threads or if you want me to tag into something in particular.
Please note, as part of preparations for this, I'm going to be focusing on winding threads over the next few days. If it's not a) for November or b) plotty/relatively new, I WILL be dropping it.
EDEN MCCAIN
An excellent month all around. I wasn't initially planning on throwing her into speed-dating, but wound up doing so anyway and really enjoying it, if only because it introduced her to several new people. I've very much wanted to throw her at tons of people, and I think I managed that. She had a whole slew of threads, deepening her friendships with Annie, Auggie, Lucy and Elvis, getting to know Zhuge. It's been lovely all around and I've really enjoyed getting her out there. She's a favorite, always will be, so it's nice to get her back on the metaphorical horse and give her a kind of social circle again, since she's a really friendly kind of a girl, and when she's mostly on her own, she really does languish into this space where she focuses on caretaking to keep her mind off herself, her loneliness, her mortality, all that. In addition to her love of theater, she's also starting to admit to herself that she really is interested in psychology, although she has doubts about whether or not she's cut out to do anything with that.
HALLOWEEN: When the animals attack, she'll be there to help if ass-kicking is necessary. Unless someone has a specific request, not planning to play this out.
NOVEMBER: Getting to know Zhuge et. al. better, studying, etc.
MEREDITH GREY
Not terribly much this month, except dealing with Sean and their various issues. I need to tag her into something still, she's the only one who hasn't made reqs, which is more of an annoyance than a worry with her since she's had other things to grapple with. Just the one thing, though, since I assume what we're doing now should be something we can link this month. If there's one thing that canon's proved, it's that Meredith can be married and still fuck things up left and right, which is… kind of a relief, because I had my doubts about how it would all be handled. That said, I'm looking forward to a period of bright and shiny Mere, however long that actually manages to last, after a year-plus of near-non-stop trouble.
HALLOWEEN: No specific plans.
NOVEMBER: MAWWIAGE IS WHAT BWINGS US TOGETHER TODAY. And then, I assume, putting her classes on hold for the week for an impromptu honeymoon? She and Sean will just run off and get married on the spot when she comes home with the dress, without bothering to grab anyone but witnesses - i.e. Lexie and Wolverine, with Sookie presiding, EVERYTHING IS ADORABLE. And there will be a reception, they'll just grab everyone after they're already married. That post will go up this weekend, and it'll all be timed to early November - Leshia, I'm thinking the 5th works in terms of everyone's schedules? And then her birthday gets rolled into the honeymoon, lmfao.
OLIVE PENDERGHAST
An easy month for Olive, just goofing around and doing schoolwork. She's pretty happy as is, except that she is, of course, also very much not. I don't think I'd actually thought about it deeply until the meme, because it really is just an undercurrent for her, how much she misses home. She's learned to put it at the back of her mind most of the time because she knows she can't change it, so instead she lives with it, because she is… practically healthy to the point of being unhealthy, and because if she let herself dwell on it, she would fall apart and she can't allow that. It's not just her family, it's that right now she should be applying to colleges. She should be planning her future. She should have a future, and she enjoys her classes and her people on the island, but it's hard to feel she's got a future exactly in a place that has a built-in expiration date, no university, no possibility of career beyond a very few, and even for those, she'd need to stick around for a long time to get the necessary training and she doesn't want to. She wants the life she would have had, just with some additions, even if her image of that was always vague because she could never decide. She still wants to have those choices. She's young and bright and ambitious, driven, and now, right when all that should be opening up to her, she's had to put almost everything on pause, except, ironically, her love life, which is the thing she basically wasn't planning on having any time soon. And if she lets herself stop for a moment and think about the fact she doesn't have those choices or her family and hasn't for three-quarters of a year, she'd be inconsolable. As it is, she probably thinks of it more often than she admits. Especially given that she probably admits it practically never.

HALLOWEEN:When all the animals she's won and been given come to live and attack her on Halloween, kicking ass while shrieking until she draws Eduardo's attention and he breaks his leg climbing in her window because she bars her door because safety is important, okay, and then he's breaking his leg. Also she will be dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Sadly, she will not be attending Tony's party because she'll have to take Eduardo to the clinic and then will refuse to go without him since he got hurt helping her.
NOVEMBER: We'll probably still be doing the threads for the amusement park, Halloween and ha-ha-maybe-his-leg-is-broken posts, but I very much always welcome more threads for Olive. She's the easiest and the most fun like 90% of the time, so definitely hit me up for something if you don't mind me being slow. Other than that, no real plans for her in a general sense. Eduardo will be moving in with her temporarily what with the broken leg, which is maybe in part just because she wants to see what it's like? Like I said above, she badly misses home, and that will hit especially hard on Halloween because, you know, stuffed animals never attack at home, so she might be slightly withdrawn OR she might be extra full of jokes, because she doesn't like to burden other people with problems she believes she should take care of herself.
CAMERON WINKLEVOSS
I was super-pleased with him this month. Even though he didn't have a massive number of threads, I did introduce him to two new people, so that was nice. I'd like him to get to know people he's already met better and to start forming more attachments, because right now it's mostly just Jenny and, to a lesser extent but still, Miranda he knows, and, though he's the perhaps less charismatic of the twins, he's also incredibly social and now he's like a 6'5" fish out of water. I kind of love how incredibly fucking awkward he is about island life, honestly, but he should be acclimating, perhaps more than he realizes, even if he mostly does not want to.
HALLOWEEN: Possibly handwavily going to the Winchester with Jenny in a costume she is making him wear.
NOVEMBER: Fffffingers crossed, we will hopefully, hopefully, hopefully be getting a Tyler, which is thrilling for me, because I really did not think we ever would and because I'm looking forward to all that comes with. If this proves to be the case, Cameron will be covered for threads, dealing with all that. If that falls through, he will need some and I will probably have him be a gigantic dork out working on the skiffs left behind in the boathouse, which are his now beeeeeecause Becca said he could have them even if he doesn't know that, they're just sitting there dusty, okay, he's cleaning them up so they're seaworthy. Anyway, that will, if it comes through, admittedly, turn his opinion of the island on its head. Even if home is and always will be better, Tyler's presence will make up for that and he'll set his mind to new projects and really settling in at last. Also he needs a giant kick in the ass with regards to Jenny one way or another.
HARLEY ALTMEYER
Torn, as ever, in two directions. On one hand, he can't ever completely shake the things that happened before the island, and after the better part of a month, he remains worried about what he discovered before his arrival, his sisters and whether or not things are really in a kind of suspended animation back home or if he's instead inadvertently become even more of a fuck up than he imagined, because for all his threats to leave them, he never would have, because what kind of a dick abandons his sisters like that. There is basically nothing he wouldn't do for them, and I really do mean nothing. I have to go puke now.
On the other hand, the island's fucking awesome. He still doesn't trust it and probably never exactly will, but he accepts that he likes how things work, that no one is actually trying to kill him and thus far there's no catch to all this, and also all the women are hot, also he got laid, which is… that is really high up on his list of priorities, let's not even try to pretend otherwise. He will, if given even the slightest chance, continue to pursue opportunities to sleep with Ellen while sort of, in his skewed way, pining after Thalia because she could kick his ass six ways from Sunday but she's absurdly beautiful to him. He doesn't want to get into any kind of a relationship, which is more incentive to go after Ellen, in fact, than Thalia, because he's rather not have anything expected from him and he doesn't want to risk screwing up someone else's life, which he's convinced he would and which is likelier if he actually tries to date someone and, much to his confusion and annoyance and unshakable desire, the way he sees Thalia is about a lot more than sex, even if he doesn't know what it is exactly.
I've been so fucking thrilled with his threads. Every last one of them has been amazing so far and I've gotten such a wide range of characters to play with, most of whom I've never gotten a chance to play off of before. He's opened up an entirely new field for me and I'm getting such quality threads, my god. And I'm really looking forward to seeing how and/or if some of these develop, because he's been hit by everything from attraction to horror to being confused by kindness to, unexpectedly, feeling more fraternal toward Kate than anything else, even if she's ridiculously hot, probably because she reminds him more of his sisters than the other girls do. Well, I mean, more of Amber; if anyone reminds him of Misty, it's Arya. (And let's not even discuss how hilarious it is to me that he's attracted to the badass hunter barely above Amber's age, Lina.
