So I went to the conference in Wales. Stayed in student halls. Went to many maths lectures, gave one myself (went fairly ok, except for me stammering and jumbling my words a bit). Came back.
Conferences are getting slightly better, just because I know more mathematicians so I don't have to cling to the same person all the time. It does scare/upset me when they all talk maths and it becomes painfully apparent that I haven't got a clue about anything.
Next stress: York, a week tomorrow. It's a training course on engaging with schools.
I so wish the OU course was over. It's just too much. I took my books with me to Swansea and did some work on the train. But I'm always at least a week behind. One more essay to do and then exam early in June. Am mostly avoiding thinking about it, because I don't see how I can absorb enough to write timed essays.
