Haven't ever commented on anything of yours before, but I've got a dog myself (Brandi knows way more than I do though), and thought I could shed some light. How old is the pup?
One good point to make is this: don't make a fuss when you leave. For example, don't kiss and hug and scratch and love all over the dog if you're going to be leaving in a few minutes. That just makes your dog feel more abandoned when you do leave and will make it hella more vocal and whiney when you head out. Just get up and go if you have to leave the house. Don't look at it, don't pet it, just go. Do the same thing when you get home. Don't look, don't pet. Come into the house, let it sniff you, but don't get overly excited. Then when the dog is calm and resting, that's when you shower it with affection because it takes your affection as a reward for being calm, and it will gradually whine less and less.
Don't coddle it when it's whining because again they take your affection as a reward. Reinforce good behavior ie., when they're calm.
You won't have to do this forever, but it helps in the developmental stages.
yeah.

Thank you so much. That is acctually helpful information. I think she may be too young to understand some things. i found out that you should not try to crate train until they are 4 months old and she is 7 weeks old. i feel bad for her. i will ignore her whines and whales.
