Summery: If Caleb hadn't been able to defeat Chase, even with his father's Power. Introspective, drabble.

Through the pain, confusion, and Power, the only thing Caleb could really feel was the cold. Cold from the rain, from the muddy ground that Chase Pope was pushing him against. Chase’s frozen fingers that were clamped down on his neck, and the other hand pressing against his chest.
Dimly, Caleb was aware that Chase was forcing Power through his veins, literally killing him from the inside out. He knew that it hurt, but felt nothing but the cold. The cold fear squeezing him like a vice.
Caleb knew that he was dieing. He knew that there was nothing he could do to prevent it. It was knowing that his lover was going to die because of his failure that had icy fear gripping him.
Knowing that the one he loved was going to die because he failed to kill Chase was driving a stake through his failing heart.
That fear spurred the warlock on, showing him his last option with crystal clarity. If Caleb was going to die, he was not going to leave his lover defenseless.
He was already forcing the words out, the five words that Chase had wanted him to say all along. His sight was gone, but Caleb could imagine the pleasantly surprised look on the other warlock’s face because the suffocating pressure loosened slightly, allowing those five words to make it past Caleb’s numb lips.
“I…”
“Will…”
“You…”
“My…”
“Power…”
And there was a crack like thunder that echoed in Caleb’s ears, followed by Chase’s scream of outrage as he realized that it wasn’t him Caleb had willed his Power to. Chase’s Power swarmed his veins, clenching around his heart as he tried to stop the inevitable.
With Caleb and his father’s Power, he hoped his loved one would be able to finish Chase. He hoped for so many things; for their safety, for their happiness, for their acceptance, for their forgiveness.
Caleb hoped that Reid would be able to handle all his new Power.
