Fic Recs: FF6 and Ender's Game
Went trolling around the Pit of Voles in a fit of boredom and
blind_go procrastination. Found some excellent fics, which actually pisses me off because it means I'll have to go back to the Pit some time.
Season of Grace by Lirillith
Final Fantasy 6, all characters. This story is so, so good. The plot: our heroes do their best to celebrate Christmas (er, Yuletide) in the World of Ruin. Hope among bleakness...isn't that what the game is about? Absolutely beautiful characterization, and the best job of world-building I've ever seen in an FF6 fic (I love how she integrates real-world cultures).

Ender's Game. What if Ender had asked to see Peter instead of Valentine when he was at the lake? Intriguing concept, a great look into Peter and Ender's characters (I'm not too hot on Graff though), and the author has Orson Scott Card's style down pat.
