As soon as Edward had opened the door and stepped inside, John had leapt from the seat and was standing next to him instantly. He looked deep into Edwards eyes and could have fainted with both pleasure and relief when he saw that Edward was smiling at him. You will always mean everything to me. I love you Edward.´ And John threw his arms around his brother and Edward returned the hug.
They pulled back and Edward said ´I know you love me John. Don´t worry, everything will be cool - and I mean it when I said that I can cope with sharing you´. ´No, you don´t get what I´m saying Edward. I´m saying like, I really love you. Like I love you the way you love me. I love you as much as you love me´
And Edward finally understood what John was saying and his heart melted. John thought Edward was about to start teasing him for being big-headed as he normally would, but instead he cupped Johns face in his hands and kissed him. And John kissed Edward back. And they continued to kiss.
John would never forget that first kiss with Edward. And while he could describe his kiss with Jess as being mechanical and his kiss with Lucie as being soothing, he was never able to properly describe what that kiss with Edward was like. He knew the reason why. For him, the kiss was perfection itself. And it was much too beautiful and magical a thing, for there ever to be an adequate word that could do it proper justice. A bit like Edward himself.
