Well, as of Midnight it will be 2011. It sounds so futuristic, like we should have flying cars or something, but sadly we don't. In fact just about everything that the movies have said we were supposed to have around this time we don't, and I'm saying, "Where the hell is my time machine?!" Of course, as always, I will make the best of the next year and wish and hope that I can stick to the plan this time, which is losing a little weight. I just can't help myself sometimes, I love food. Not that I'm like morbidly obese or anything, but I could lose like 50 or 60 pounds and be fine.
I watched a couple of documentaries yesterday, pretty interesting stuff, and in truth, I really like documentaries. The first was called Catfish, and I honestly forgot it was on my computer until I clicked on it. It's quite a good little movie, a cautionary tale of what could happen if you go to meet someone that you meet on the internet to find out they are completely different from what you think they are. So, remember, always be sure to have people with you if you intend to meet someone for the first time from the internet, you never know if you may need someone to help you.
And the other was Restrepo, which was a National Geographic doc where they followed a platoon of soldiers in Iraq for a year in the deadliest area of the country. It was pretty sad, if interesting, because you get a feel for what the hell is going on over there, and it's a really touching tale because you can kind of relate, whether or not you have someone that is fighting over there. I've always said that even if I don't support the reasons for war, I support the troops, because they are only fighting for what they believe in and for what they are told to do.
Anyway, that's all for now, see you all next year. (Yes, I realize that that is tomorrow, it was meant as a quip.)
