Alan R. Flaherty, 44, of Onondaga Hill, died Tuesday at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of Solvay High School and had attended SUNY Morrisville. He was employed by Onondaga County as aWater Treatment Operator for 23 years. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Adelphi Club.
Survivors: His wife of three years the former Christine M. Farrell; a son Martin T. Flaherty of Cape Coral, FL; a sister Frances Flaherty of Pinellas Park, FL; five brothers, David of Solvay, James of Oakridge, NC, Stephen of Jordan, Paul of Baldwinsville, and Patrick of Pinellas Park, FL; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services: Saturday 9:30 a.m. Holy Family Church and 8:45 a.m. at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions to, Heart Failure & Heart Transplant Fund, c/o William Dec, Bigelow Suite 800, Massachusetts General Hospital, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114.
