Also incase you didn't notice having at least 40 different people that care enough to comment on the interwebs isn't exactly unpopular.

I only have 25 people that have commented on mine according to that and you have only made 27 comments on my journal so nyer :P

Your friends list is also not super super large. Once that grows, things will follow. Believe you me. I think the last time I ran this thing, I had 125 unique commenters, but it only took 2-3 comments to get on the list. Just... write interesting things, and interesting people will come to read them. That seems to be the way it works.

That said, that's 40 people who cared to read what you wrote enough to say something about it. In the grand scheme of things, that isn't bad.
