Ice Inferno.
Personality:
Hana is a sweetheart. She's a nice girl who's way of being friendly makes it so that she's generally very likeable. On the surface, Hana seems like your typical, average, everyday Japanese teenager; she goes to school, she has her friends, she has the guy she likes, and she has her hobbies, such as fashion and collecting hair ribbons. However, there is one thing that sets Hana apart from all the other girls her age; she dared to venture in a sport that is mostly male-dominated.
By taking on the sport of Golf, Hana has learned a few things about herself; she's very patient, is one of them. She didn't think it was any big deal at first, but it's really something remarkable when a girl her age doesn't get too terribly frustrated that she's not learning fast enough. She has also learned that she has quite a lot of drive and determination, as she doesn't like to give up even during her most frustrating moments. On the contrary to her positive benefits, however, Hana has found that she's pretty competitive. While this can be a good thing, this can also lead to her being her own worst enemy. When she is consumed by the competitive spirit, she stops at nothing to make sure she is prepared for anything ... but it also causes her to focus entirely too much on her preparations and practice.
On a more personal level, Hana is extremely friendly, as mentioned before. It doesn't take too much to get to know her and be her friend; she's an extremely open person most of the time, and has a very open-minded view of the world and everything in it, so she's willing to accept even the most bizarre of things at times. Hana is also a huge tease once you get to know her. She will tease someone she's close to about anything ranging from little things to big, R-Rated things (though the R-Rated teasing usually only happens when she feels she can trust someone with anything, and if she feels she is an equal to that person).
Once Hana has found someone she feels she can trust and be close to, she will do anything she can for that someone. She will drop everything she's doing to help them in some situations, even. She's very devoted to the people she cares about, and she will stop at nothing to ensure that they are happy and safe.
Despite how nice she is, however, Hana does have a temper. If one knows the right buttons to push, it can be pretty easy to get her riled up and yelling at them. Hana also has a bit of a jealousy issue; especially when it comes to someone she likes in a romantic sense. If she has a romantic interest in someone, even seeing that person with another potential romantic interest will set her off, and cause her to sometimes confront that person and give them the 20 questions treatment, asking who the other interest is, what they are to them, etc. It's not one of her finer qualities, and she realizes this, but it's not exactly something she has an easy time controlling.
Hana also has her fears, and things that make her afraid or sad. She has a fear of heights, which is something she is slowly learning to conquer through her time on PangYa island (seeing as some of the courses are up fairly high), and after her recent loss to the Demon Lord and her experience with being mind controlled into being his servant, she has developed a fear of not being able to be in control of herself. It's something she even has nightmares about, and is something that will affect her personality to a great extent for some time.
She's also very in-tune with the feelings of others for the most part, especially if she knows the person in question very well. When they're sad, she tries to make them feel better. If she can't, she feels a bit depressed herself because she feels helpless. When feeling this way, her first instinct is to get her mind off of it in some way, and even run away from the problem at times. It's during times like this that she'll resort to exploding golf balls for comfort more than anything else.
Background:
Hana's life used to be normal. She was an ordinary fourteen year old girl living in Tokyo, Japan. She was in the midst of attending her final year of Middle School, and was interested in things like fashion, music, and all of the other things that any normal teenage girl would be interested in. There was only one thing that set Hana apart from all of her other absolutely girly friends:
Golf.
Yes, golf. A sport mainly dominated by boys and men. Very few girls ventured into the sport, either because they thought it was boring or because it was something that just wasn't attractive for a young lady in Japan. Either way, Hana had ventured into it, and she was motivated to continue doing better, not only because she enjoyed it, but for another, more petty reason; that reason, of course, being a boy she had feelings for. Nuri, a friend she had been close with since childhood, was the one who had introduced her to the sport. She had attended one of his practices, and while she wasn't exactly entertained by watching it, it had made her realize just how much the two of them had drifted apart in recent years ... and so, she made the decision to try and indulge herself in one of his interests, so that the two could remain close and spend more time together. She found after trying it that she not only enjoyed it, but she was actually decent at it. She never looked back.
So, Hana was leading a very busy life, between school, golf practice, and hanging out with her girlfriends whenever she had the time for it. With everything going on in her life, she hardly had time to think about how much more busy her life could -- and would -- be getting ... in more ways than one, even.
It all started one day, when Hana woke up late for class. As she was rushing to get herself to school at a decent time, she ran into a boy. As she was picking herself up, she noticed that the boy looked very ... odd. He had dark skin, odd markings on his cheeks, and wore no shirt; only something that could only be described as a male sarong. His hair reached his chin, and was the same blue color as the markings on his cheeks. Some of his hair was held back by a bandana on his head. Yes, he was a very odd-looking boy, indeed ... but Hana was late for class, and could only manage a quick apology before heading off again.
That day, though, Hana couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She thought at first that she may have just been paranoid, but she couldn't seem to get the feeling to go away. Even still, she continued with her day, and went to practice afterward; her coach even seemed to feel that something was off with Hana, though, because her performance that day wasn't very good. Even Nuri was asking her what was up, and Hana reluctantly told him that she felt like she had been watched all day. Nuri walked her home, worried himself that Hana was so worried about the feeling she had. They parted ways at her door, and, Hana, still giddy over the fact that the guy she liked had cared enough to walk her home, stated to unlock the door to her apartment and go inside ...
When the same boy she had run into earlier was suddenly beside her. Hana reacted strongly to him, falling over onto her butt and looking up at the boy with wide eyes. He urged her to calm down, saying that he just had a few things to ask her. Hana was far too shocked to deny him the chance to ask her what he wanted to.
He went on to introduce himself as Quma, and told her that he was not from her world. He then also went on to explain that Hana's great-grandfather had been a hero of his homeland, PangYa island, and that he wanted to bring her to the very place her great-grandfather had loved so much and had helped to save. Hana pushed herself to a standing position, gathered her things, and gave the boy a polite bow, saying that she was sorry, but she couldn't accept his invitation. She had her own life here to attend to. And with that, she went inside of her apartment, leaving Quma standing on her doorstep.
Over the next week, Hana tried to get herself to keep focused after that encounter with Quma, but for some reason, her mind continued to drift to everything he had said. She had never had the opportunity to meet her great-grandfather, as he had died before she was born; however, she had known that he was big into golf himself from her grandfather, who remembered his late father fondly. Who was she to think that Quma may have been spouting a load of bullhockey?
Not only that, but during the middle of that week, Nuri had suddenly stopped showing up to practice. Hana herself had kept going, but was depressed to see that Nuri had continued to not show up. Her mood was going down the drain; she was becoming quiet, lost in thought all the time, and obviously showing how worried she was that she hadn't seen or heard from Nuri in the past several days.
A week went by, and as Hana was returning home from practice again, she heard Quma's voice call out to her again. She stopped and looked at him, greeting him politely. Quma could tell she was down, and was worried. He then said that he knew where Nuri was, which perked her interest. Quma told her that Nuri had been brought to PangYa island by a friend of his from his homeland, and had been there for the entirety of the time that he had been missing in Japan. Hana then changed her tune about not wanting to go, and demanded that Quma take her there, to which Quma smirked and teased her a little bit about her sudden change of heart. Hana then sheepishly admitted that she had been thinking about what he had told her, and that her sudden desire to want to see it was about much more than just Nuri being there, though worry for her friend helped. Quma then held out his hand, and encouraged Hana to take it. She did, and he recited something that took the both of them to PangYa island.
Once there, Quma brought Hana to see Cadie, the master witch of the island. She was one of the people who aided the previous heroes of the island in their duties, and Quma knew she would want to see Hana and verify for herself that she was indeed the great-granddaughter of a hero. As Hana met with Cadie and was, in fact, confirmed as her great-grandfather's great-granddaughter, Cadie asked her to sit down so that she could explain to her a little bit about what her ancestor had done for the island. Just as everybody was getting comfortable, however, a blonde girl burst into Cadie's house, dragging none other than Nuri along with her, and incoherently babbling excitedly about how Nuri had mastered something already. Cadie sighed, rubbed her temples, and kindly asked the girl to stop talking, whereas Hana saw Nuri and immediately rushed over to give her friend a hug ... and then slap him on the arm, for disappearing so suddenly ... and also for being with another girl. Though, she didn't mention THAT part. She did, however, manage to glower a bit at the girl, now known as Pippin. Quma laughed a little, sheepishly, and explained to Hana that Pippin was the friend of his who had brought Nuri to the island. Hana still could not contain her glowering at the girl. She was now competition, in her eyes.
Regardless of how loud the entrance was, Cadie saw Pippin and Nuri's entrance as good timing, as she was about to explain to Hana about the history of PangYa island, and why it had been thought to bring both her and Nuri here.
Cadie then went on to explain that once, a long time ago, PangYa had been a very peaceful island ... and was, to this day. However, a Demon Lord and his followers, who had all been exiled from the main island, had decided that they wanted to rise above the citizens of the island and take over as their king. As the Demon Lord started to wreak havoc on the island in his hostile takeover, a hero from another world arrived, and, using a magical sphere -- later named a 'comet' --, managed to seal away the Demon Lord. However, the defeat and the sealing had managed to do something interesting; it split the Demon Lord's soul into several pieces, and the pieces of the Demon Lord were scattered all across the island. Every so often, a piece of Demon Lord's soul would find itself close to someone who could become the new vessel of the Demon Lord, and should that body respond in the right way, a new Demon Lord would be born, and a hero would have to stop him. Thirty years prior, it had been Hana's great-grandfather who had replaced the seal. Ten years prior, it had been Nuri's father who had done the deed.
With that information, Hana then asked why Cadie needed both her and Nuri present on the island. Cadie then explained that there had been signs that the Demon Lord's revival had already been showing signs of starting around the island; they were very subtle hints, and were something that only someone who had dealt with this sort of thing a few times already would be able to notice, but she had noticed them. Another thing she had been worried about, however, was a boy named Kaz; there were rumors that he was the Demon Lord's new vessel, and she had suspicions that the boy had already been in contact with the Demon Lord's soul in some way, even though he seemed to have amnesia and couldn't remember much about himself aside from his name. Cadie looked as though more about Kaz was bothering her, but neither Hana nor Nuri could bring themselves to ask about it.
After the history lesson, the four of them (Hana, Nuri, Quma, and Pippin) were let go, and Nuri, Quma, and Pippin set to work in catching Hana up on the differences between regular Golf and PangYa. Hana found herself feeling better than she had in that entire past week, finally being able to play and talk with Nuri again, as well as their new friends; she was even starting to warm up to Pippin, who was highly energetic and slightly ditzy, and not really much of a threat to her relationship with Nuri at all.
It wasn't long before an announcement was made to all of PangYa: A tournament would be held. Both Nuri and Hana were going to participate, among many other people on the island.
For the next week, both Hana and Nuri practiced as much as they could (Pippin becoming somewhat militant in her training of Nuri, while Quma was still strict, but not militant at all). Finally, the day came when the tournament would start.
Both Hana and Nuri played their way through every opponent they met, but near the end of it all, Cadie caught up with Hana and gave her a task: She and Quma would then set out to find two items necessary for the completion of the sealing ritual, the 'Holy Comet,' and the 'Holy Lance.' She explained she would have split the tasks between the two descended heroes, but she found Hana first and couldn't spare any more time to find Nuri. Hana accepted, and she and Quma set out to find the items. On their way they met an Older Man named Azer, an opponent who Hana had beaten earlier into the tournament. Azer asked for a rematch, and Hana declined, stating that she was on important business. Azer insisted, though, and Hana had no choice but to accept his challenge.
After defeating Azer a second time, he was feeling depressed. To help him cheer up, Hana asked him to help her by finding the Holy Lance. Azer and his caddy Lola then set out to find the Holy Lance, while Hana and Quma put their focus on the Holy Comet.
They eventually found it, and Azer returned to her with the Holy Lance in tow as well. Now that Hana had them both, she returned to Cadie, who by that point had also found Nuri.
Cadie then said that the only thing left to do was to decide which of the two descendants would go on to seal the Demon Lord. Hana and Nuri would battle to determine who would proceed. Hana asked why they both couldn't go to seal him, and Cadie replied with how she could only use her magic to make enough room for two people to go into the Deep Inferno, meaning that only one of them and their caddy could go in. Hana reluctantly submitted to this, knowing Cadie was doing her best, and the match between Hana and Nuri began.
Nuri won.
As Cadie was preparing to open the gate to the Deep Inferno, Hana asked if she could speak with Nuri in private for a moment. She took Nuri aside, and started the conversation with how she couldn't believe that he was the son of a hero. She then asked him if he really thought he could seal the Dark Lord. Nuri responded by saying that people were depending on him now, so he could do it no matter what.
After hearing that, Hana told him to bring extra clothing, not to skip meals, and, most importantly, to come back safely. If he didn't, she would find a way to kill him herself. Nuri agreed to all of this with a laugh, and then started to make his way toward the portal leading to the Deep Inferno as Cadie finally opened it for him and Pippin.
Hana started to cry.
When Quma asked what was wrong, she told him that she wanted to go too. And then, she promised that she was going to become stronger, so that Nuri wouldn't have to go anywhere dangerous without her.
Hana decided that she was going to stay and wait for Nuri, and Quma and Cadie stayed with her. They waited, and waited, and waited until finally, Nuri and Pippin emerged from the Deep Inferno, victorious. Hana ran over to Nuri and hugged him, noting that he was exhausted (and the dope even still managed to say that he had to return, so that he could keep playing with her. d'awww). She wanted to hear what happened, but Cadie insisted that everyone return to her place to rest. Cadie said she would meet up with them again later, and sent them all back to her place via magic.
Once back in Cadie's place, Hana waited as Nuri took a shower and got himself all ready for rest, and then, before she went to take her own shower, she sat on a bed with him and talked. Nuri told her all about what had happened; how he had first encountered the guards, and then faced off against Kaz, who was still trying to fight off the influence of the Demon Lord. After his victory, the Demon Lord fully took over Kaz's body, and Kaz became the new Demon Lord; Pippin was trapped, and had told Nuri to run, but he couldn't. Instead, he challenged the Demon Lord Kaz, and won the challenge, freeing the boy from the Demon Lord's grasp. Kaz was knocked unconscious. Nuri and Pippin could do nothing more than leave him there.
Hana listened quietly. It had all sounded so dangerous, and yet Nuri faced it head-on, like a true hero ...
Nuri noticed Hana was quiet, and asked her what she was thinking about. Hana then voiced her doubts that she could have done anything to stop the Demon Lord, as Nuri had done. Nuri smiled and told her that he believed she could do anything, because she was such a great and determined girl.
Hana looked at him, and Nuri confessed to her that he really did want to return to her, so that the two of them could be together again. He told her that he really liked her, and Hana, crying again, gave him a hug and told him that she felt the same way.
... and then Hana announced that she felt gross and had to go take a shower, and demanded that Nuri get some rest.
After the tournament's end, and everything was back to normal (including Kaz), Hana and Nuri were free to return to their own world. Despite returning to their normal world, however, some things had obviously changed in their daily routine; while the two of them had essentially told each other that they had feelings for each other, they weren't exactly a couple just yet. They were both too nervous to bring it up. So, the two were a little awkward around each other. More than that, however, the two of them ended up going and visiting the realms of PangYa whenever they could spare the time for it.
It wouldn't be long after this that Hana disappeared once again.
One morning, when Hana woke up, she wasn't in her own bed. Instead, she was in a hospital bed. Someone came in and explained to her that she was no longer in her own world, and that this world was known simply as 'Paradise.' After being given some basic knowledge about the place and being given a communication device known as a 3STP, Hana set about to trying to adapt to the place. She spent quite a while in Paradise, making fast friends with a few people, finding a job, and even getting herself kidnapped and drugged in order for someone to get back at a friend she was close to. Hana had her good times and her bad times in Paradise. She had gotten to a point where she had been there for so long that she was starting to think that she would never return home.
But how wrong she was. Just as it had been when she arrived in Paradise, Hana found herself once again back in her own bed one day, waking up normally, as if it had all been a dream. Nothing in her world had changed. Hana then returned to her daily routine, continued being awkward with Nuri, continued with School, and with PangYa Island, and with everything else in her life, only a little weirded out that nothing seemed to have changed in her world despite her being gone for several months.
As she and Nuri spent more time on PangYa island, she began to get to know the other inhabitants and frequent visitors of the island. She got to know many of the people who she had defeated in the tournament; Cecilia, a Naval Officer and the Captain of the Silvia, which was the biggest Naval Ship in the entire military. Kooh, a pirate and the captain of the Lunar Tomb, a ship that was once her father's. Kooh had been searching for her missing father for a long time; it was rumored that he had been made into a slave for the Demon Lord, and she wanted to find him and prove the rumor wrong. Max, who was famous in her and Nuri's world as a British Tennis player. Arin, one of Cadie's former students from the WizWiz magic school. Hana became a little closer with Azer, who became a bit protective of her, despite his eccentric personality and the way he was constantly chasing after Cecilia. Hana even got to know Kaz a little bit, slowly even befriending him alongside Nuri now that the Demon Lord's influence seemed to be completely gone from him. It wasn't long afterward that a new arrival came to the island, too: Her name was Lucia, a Korean pop idol who also loved the game and was entirely too full of herself. Upon first seeing Hana, she began to call her 'Mini-me,' in reference to the two's similar appearances. Despite thinking Lucia as someone annoying, Hana came to appreciate her and think of her as a friend as well.
Later still, she met Nell, a young child who was rather interesting. Nell was a child born from a fragment of the Demon Lord's spirit, and, along with a cat named Pepper, was on a mission to find things known as the 'Fragments of time.' Hana didn't know what they were, and Cadie wasn't talking. Still, Hana took a liking to Nell, and had even started to give the name 'Nell-chan' to the child.
All was butterflies and rainbows on PangYa island! Hana and Nuri had finally made their relationship official, and were very happy together. It seemed like many of their friends were starting to get together, too: Arin and Max decided to give dating a try shortly after she and Nuri had made it official, and Kaz and Lucia, who had somehow grown quite close, were together as well. They continued to visit the island together whenever they could, and had even spent their summer vacation there. It was during Summer Vacation, in fact, that something happened on PangYa Island that would lead to turmoil.
Cadie would later say that the signs were there, and she hadn't read them properly. It had started with abnormal temperatures for the Summer Season; the ordinarily warm and humid weather became cold and damp. Snow started to fall, and nothing could explain why it was happening. And then, a new land started to quickly rise to the surface of PangYa Island; it was quickly donned the 'Ice Inferno.'
Out of both curiosity and worry for what this could mean for the island, Hana, Nuri, Kaz, Lucia, Arin, Max, Azer, Cecilia, Nell, and Cadie all went to the new land together, to see if perhaps a visit would give them the answers they needed to the mystery of the new land. During their visit, however, things started to go horribly wrong.
Kaz started to grasp at his head, screaming in pain. He fell to the ground, and Lucia, worried for him, knelt beside him. Kaz suddenly stopped screaming, and fell eerily quiet. When Lucia tried to get a response out of him, Kaz only shoved her away, stood, and began to laugh maniacally.
Cadie recognized what was happening, and advised everybody to get away from Kaz, that another shard of the Demon Lord's soul had found him, and still considered him to be a compatible vessel; and he was, it seemed, because the Demon Lord had arisen once again. Lucia, however, couldn't stand to see her boyfriend acting so strangely, and tried, once more, to talk to him. She called his name, to which he stopped and froze. Lucia kept talking, bringing up memories of their times together, and moved toward him. She enveloped him in a hug. Kaz remained silent.
And then, with a whisper of her name, he stabbed her.
Lucia went into shock, and stepped away from him, holding her stomach. It was bleeding rather profusely from the wound he had given her. She then fell to the ground unconscious.
Hana and Nuri, enraged at what had happened, both challenged the newly arisen Demon Lord. Nuri had done this once before, but he had totally forgotten that they were missing the essential items needed to seal the Demon Lord. Cadie had been busy transporting Lucia to a hospital, and couldn't remind them; so, Hana, thinking she had an advantage, went first against the Demon Lord.
She lost.
The Demon Lord snapped his fingers.
Hana's eyes went blank, and she became something akin to a zombie. She made her way to stand beside the Demon Lord. If Nuri had been calling her name, she hadn't heard it; at that point, she could think of nothing but serving her master.
Everything for Hana after that point was a blur; when she finally woke up from the mind control the Demon Lord had placed upon her, she was wearing an outfit she couldn't remember being in before, and upon looking around, she saw that Nuri, Arin, Max, Cecilia, and Azer were in much of the same state she had been. Kooh was helping Cadie, who was injured. Lucia was unconscious again, and Kaz was holding her in his arms.
Cadie was shouting orders to Nell to use magic to transport everybody to a hospital, but Hana could barely recognize the words she was hearing.
The last thing Hana heard before her eyes rolled back into her head and her world went dark was the sound of Nuri frantically calling her name.
Abilities/Additional Notes:
Hana is rather experienced in the game of Golf, but the abilities she has for the game are really nothing special. It's when she came to PangYa island and learned some of their tricks of the trade that she gained the potential to put her abilities to a more destructive use, should she choose to do so. The following are abilities that can be considered destructive should she decide to use them for offense of defense:
☄ Tomahawk: Hana hits the ball at full power, and the ball becomes enveloped in a flame as it drives through the air; as it collides with the ground, it causes an explosion.
☄ Spike: Hana hits the ball at full power, and the ball quickly gains height and flies high into the air. It stays in the air for a moment or two, gathering power, and then flies full-force at the ground, resulting in an explosion as it hits the ground.
Also, while Hana is not a fighter at all, if threatened by hand-to-hand combat, she will do one of two things.
One: Flee. She knows she can't fight, and she doesn't want to if she doesn't have to under normal circumstances.
Two: Try to defend herself using a golf club. Of course, she doesn't always carry around a set of clubs everywhere she goes, so in the case that she is threatened, nine times out of ten, she will be utterly defenseless and will resort to the first option. However, in the rare occasion that she's attacked while bearing a full set of clubs, she may just gift someone with a 1W to the head.
Overall, Hana is a relatively harmless person. It takes extreme circumstances to get her to use the techniques she's learned from PangYa island for battle purposes.

What upset her most was that she didn't remember anything.
It was scary, waking up and realizing she had no memory of what had previously transpired. It was frightening, waking up in clothing she had no memory of putting on, or obtaining to begin with. It was terrifying, seeing the people she had grown to love, much in the same state she had been, or worse.
The only sound that Hana could hear now was the sound of Nuri calling her name. Even as she lay in a hospital bed, curled up into a ball, still in the very same outfit she had found herself in upon waking up from the Demon Lord's control over her.
She shut her eyes tightly; she didn't want to be awake right now. For all intents and purposes, she was back to normal; she could think for herself, she could move on her own, and she could do most of the things that she had been able to do before. Still, something within her didn't want to do any of those things. She only wanted to lay there and wish for sleep to take her once again, so that she didn't have to think so much about how she couldn't remember anything.
But even if she could remember, she knew that she would still be worried out of her mind for everybody. Lucia had looked to be in really bad shape, and Kaz, now that he was free of the Demon Lord's grasp on him once more, seemed desperate to get a response out of the girl.
It sounded as though she might have died. It was something she had often joked with Lucia about, though both of them knew it was no laughing matter; she'd playfully tell Lucia to 'go die' every so often when she was being especially annoying. She had never meant it, though.
She didn't know if Lucia was dead, but ...
She didn't know how she felt about it. She couldn't feel anything, it seemed. She couldn't remember anything, either. Not from the time when she had been under the Demon Lord's control.
Cadie had been injured, too. It seemed as though the only one who hadn't been broken in some way was Nell. Good thing, too. Everyone else must have been transported to safety. She hoped everyone was safe, and that Lucia wasn't dead.
Or, she would, had she been able to feel anything about everything. Right now, she just wanted to sleep.
Later, when she could feel something, when she could stop laying in bed and feeling as though some part of her life were missing, she would probably cry.
After all. Any normal almost sixteen year old girl would do the same thing in her shoes. Especially after what had just taken place.
