[Lucky Lyon has had the supreme good fortune of being slotted into Susan's English class; naturally, knowing everyone in the class by sight, she'll glance up at the new arrival before reaching down into her desk to rummage up the list of students and examine the new names that have appeared.]

You, in the back - Could you come up for a moment, please? Yes, the one with the pink backpack.

Me? All right.

[Lyon picks up her backpack and heads up to the front of the room.]

You're new here, aren't you? Welcome to Mayfield, try not to be too traumatized when they start trying to kill us again.

What's your name?

It's Lyon.

[Said with conviction! To hell with what the drones and the attendance list say.]

Lyon . . .

[Susan does a quick scan of the list before frowning slightly.]

I don't seem to have you on here. Do you want to take a look? If that's your surname, the town might have changed it when you arrived.

It's not. The town got my name wrong.

[Lyon points at the name 'Mismar Hidaka' on Susan's list. She can't really bring herself to say that name.]

[Susan's gaze will stay on Lyon thoughtfully for a few moments before she nods. She's been here long enough to know how things work. Nonetheless, the name 'Lyon' will be penciled in beside Mismar Hidaka and the latter name is crossed out.]

Lyon, then. But you understand you'll be called Mismar by every drone in town?

[Since Susan is probably good at picking up on these sorts of small reactions, Lyon flinches just slightly at the mention of the name 'Mismar.' But all the same, she nods.]

...I do.

[Susan will make no comment to the flinch aside from refraining to say the name Mismar again.]

Right, then. I'll see what I can do about the other instructors concerning your 'nickname', but you're on your own for the rest of town.

Now is there anything you'd like to know about this school before we get started here?

[She gives a grateful bow of the head.]

And I've never been to a school like this before, so I'm afraid I don't know much about what goes on here. Is there anything important I should know...?

The most important thing is that you'll be droned if you miss more than three days in a row. Just make sure to come, even if it's only to sit around on the grounds and sunbathe.

Aside from that, you shouldn't have too much trouble. Watch out for history if you're not from America - You won't know a thing, and you'll have to catch up rather quickly if you don't want to be completely lost. If you're lucky, you'll have my Grandfather. The homework the drones assign isn't mandatory, but you'll be better off making an attempt at it than suffering through lectures and detention.
