"Yes, I've met Miakis several times. She's a very nice lady. Different worlds hrm... Your society doesn't have space travel yet so... Imagine worlds like yours, but, at different stars."

But how was I brought here? I don't think that kind of power even exists in my world.

"I have some theories, but I don't have enough factual data to go say one way or the other. I haven't even ruled out the 'A wizard did it' theory because apparently on several worlds that this place has taken from magic exists."

I've never even heard of magic that powerful before.

"Before I woke up here, I'd never heard of actual real magic."

So who's responsible for all this, then?

"I can't say with 100% certainty. Some people think its Lucy Smith though. She at least seems to be willing to take the blame for it, but half of the data here is a lie."

And how is she keeping everyone here? Is she using magic to do that too?

"I don't know? I'm not even sure its magic. This may all be a virtual reality simulation that we simply are stuck in."

"Are you familiar with clockwork, or gear workings?"

[float_like_a]

Professor Babbage or Sorensen would be able to tell you all about that sort of thing, but yes, I've seen machines that run on gears before.
