[It's been a while since Lyon has had to actively worry about anything terrible happening to herself, the Prince, or any of her housemates or other friends from home.  The months leading up to October haven't been quite as rife with the usual death and terror - or at least, not as much of it.  So even though she's still checking up on the Prince

[ Meiling is taking a break from her cleaning duties, hiding away in the High School's music room. Surely a quick nap won't hurt anyone...

She has her green cap with the gold star on it pulled down over her face, still in her overalls, and is using her legs to lean her chair back to a comfortable angle.

Ah, the music is so relaxing, too... ]

[Relaxing if you like lots of false starts and do-overs, anyway.]

[ No, not so much at that point. One particular set of notes stirs her, and she waves her hand in the air, murmuring. ] --again...

Hmm?

[Lyon stops as she finally catches sight of the other girl napping in the corner.]

I'm sorry, I didn't know someone else was using this room.

[notsogreatwall]

Huh? [ The redhead opens her eyes and blinks at the green-tinted darkness. ] Did you say-- [ Distracted, her foot slips and the chair leans too far back, depositing her swiftly on the ground. ] Aah! [ Meiling reaches up and catches the hat in the air and looks over at the girl, completely unfazed by what just happened. ] --oh. Hi there! Was that you playing just now?

[Lyon rushes over in surprise as Meiling topples over, reaching out a hand to help her up.]

Are you all right?

[notsogreatwall]

Yep! [ She rolls backwards and right onto her feet, planting the cap on her head as she did so. ] See? Just fine! [ Oh, a hand? Must be for a greeting! Meiling steps forward and takes it to shake it, enthusiastically. ] I'm Meiling. It's nice to meet you!

[Lyon smiles, seeming impressed with the acrobatic display, and shakes her hand.]

Nice to meet you too, Meiling! I'm Lyon.

[ She beams and repeats her earlier question, since it seems the girl was more concerned over her health than anything. ] Was that you playing, just now?

Yes, that was me. I'm not very good at it yet, I'm afraid.

Everyone has to start somewhere. [ Smiling. ] It was good background music for a while. Was that a song from home, or something you learned here?

It's from home. I have to practice more so I can pass Mr. Edelstein's music class.

Oh, so it's like a special assignment? [ She's picked up bits and pieces of how the kids go about their classes from being around school, but doesn't get the whole process, for the most part. ]

We're supposed to keep practicing it until we're able to play it without any mistakes. Everyone gets to pick a different piece of music. I guess mine's a little harder since I'm doing it from memory, though.

Ohh, that does sound like a challenge! Without an original to hear, or sheets to play from. [ Meiling considers this, a hand on her chin. ]

Right. That's why I have to practice a lot, since it's really just coming from memory. And I won't have anything in front of me to remind me of what notes to play next.
