Well, there was not much carousing on my birthday. Which really wasn't so bad of a thing. Andy, Rachel and Jori came up from DC, so I got to have dinner with them, which was nice. The dinner itself was really good, actually. And trying to find a place to eat for dinner made me realize that there are a lot of good looking places to eat. Which makes me want to go out to eat more. Hopefully I'll get to do that.
And while my birthday was pretty calm, I did end up going to the Preakness on saturday. Which was not quite as calm. It was a lot of fun, though. Getting into Pimlico was a bit crazy, though. The group of people I went with got to the track around 9:30am. And we finally got into the infield around 11. And missed the first 2 races (although I guess from the line we caught about as much of the races as we would have from the infield). The preakness itself was a great race. And my pony won. Good to know that Afleet Alex can stumble in the final turn and still lay it down. Of course, from where I was standing in the final turn, I had no idea any of that happened until about 45 minutes later. I didn't even know afleet alex won until about 20 minutes later, when I noticed the jumbotrons kept showing him. But I was happy. Getting out of Pimlico proved to be just as much fun as getting in, since I left the track around 7:30, and left the parking lot around 9. Ouch. It really was an all-day affair.
