Jobs, Interviews, and Planning for the Future.

Today was a really exciting day because I was bombarded by job prospects and interviews. My fiancee called me on her way to work to remind me to send emails to potential employers. I sent two emails, and then called my recruiter to find out how last week's interview went. They didn't think I was a good match. So, the hunt continues.

Then, suddenly, I received three phone calls within an hour's time: one from the recruiter for a position at a hard drive manufacturer in Lake Forest; one from a hiring manager in Cypress for restaurant operations technical support; and I received a response to my email for a print production house in El Segundo. I lined up the three interviews one day after another: today, tomorrow, and Friday. One of them will be the job I end up working for the next few years. I have some very difficult decisions ahead of me.

The interview with the print production house went pretty well; the vice president and his assistant seemed to like me, and they were pleased with my print work. They showed me around the facility, the printing presses and the warehouse, the design rooms, and the general offices. They want someone to work 4PM to 1AM, and though this is not a typical 9-5 schedule, it may work to our advantage once we're married. For instance, I could be home with the children in the morning and bring them home from school, and mommy (ixchelmala) could tuck them in at night. Work is very close to home, so if we have a problem with the children then I can come home very briefly, check things out, and return to work. I'd get to come home for dinner at 8PM, go back to work at 9PM, then crawl into bed at 2AM and wake up the next morning.

Yes, I'd like that.

Meanwhile, I have two other job interviews on the table. We'll see how they go.
