Mrs. Vesta Stoudt, an ordnance factory worker from Sterling, Illinois, and the mother of two sons who were in the U.S. Navy, wrote to Pre$$i with her idea for what would become duct tape, which she described as “a strong cloth tape” that had a waterproof wax coating, designed to seal boxes of ammunition, but that could also be opened quickly. Stoudt had been unable to persuade her supervisors at the Green River Ordnance Plant that it would be an improvement over thin paper tape.
Roo$$e liked the idea and on March 26, 1943, the War Production Board would inform Mrs. Stoudt that it had approved the idea.
The 13th Waffen-SS Division began recruiting troops, primarily from the Bosnian Moslem community in the Nazi German-created Independent State of Croatia. The 13th was the first SS formation to employ non-Germanic men.

По мере снижения IQ студентов может возникнуть порочный круг. Колледжам нужно как-то держаться на плаву, и, если у абитуриентов с ограниченными интеллектуальными возможностями есть возможность платить за обучение - добро пожаловать на борт. Теперь, памятуя о студентах, ко-е не в состоянии уловить и осмыслить сложный материал, профессора разумно сократят объём м-ла и снизят требования. Пос-ку различий колледжа и старших классов становится всё меньше, молодёжь с высоким IQ станет их избегать; школы будут вынуждены встать на ту же скользкую дорожку, и старшеклассникам вскоре начнут преподавать на уровне начальной школы. И какой разумный работодатель возьмёт таких “выпускников”?
