Damn, a lot has happened in the last four months. Let me try to give you some of the highlights:
- I went home for two weeks in July and it was AMAZING. I miss you guys from home SO MUCH!!
- The Red Sox truly rock my world.
- I have a GORGEOUS bridesmaid gown to wear next week... as much of a hassle as the wedding is going to be, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!
- I am going to Trinidad for a week the week after I get back from NY.
- Notre Dame football? Not so much. Baby steps...
- I still LOVE karaoke. Karaoke and the Red Sox... what more does a girl need?
Oh and in case anyone wasn't sure, I still hate men. BUT! Funny couple of stories. I met a guy at a football game two weeks ago. I spent the game watching the Yankees-Blue Jays game on my phone, and this guy couldn't understand why I was cheering or getting upset at completely inappropriate moments, so I explained. He said, my buddy over here is a Sox fan, too! So of course I'm thrilled about this, to the point where they both had to tell me to simmer down, but I won the one of them over and he invited me out with his friends to the Backer that night! I went, we had a great time, but I went outside to get some fresh air a couple hours into the night and he was gone! I spent the week thinking, how am I going to find this guy again, I'm not going to another home game for a month, the post season will be OVER, what's a girl to do??? So I told one of my friends about him, and she happened to live with a guy last year that's good friends with Jamie (the Sox fan from the football game), and she sent her friend an email, and he said he passed the message along... well I didn't hear anything, but I went out Saturday with some friends and happened to see a Sox cap go by. I had the automated response of hitting the guy to get all excited about our mutual love for the Sox... but it turned out to be Jamie. BURNED! And just to add insult to injury, a little later I was talking with a couple of friends and saw that Jamie was nearby... so I stole his hat and wore it for a while. Instead of simply accepting that I had ruined it, I really drove the nail into the coffin and made sure he would never talk to me again! hahahahaha at least I can laugh about it now!
Second story: this one's good. As in, I couldn't have predicted the script, and those of you who know me, you couldn't have either. I'm at the Buns, and there's no karaoke because of the baseball game (Cubs are just about as crazy fans as Red Sox fans; it's nice and makes me feel a little more at home) :) I decided to stick around because the fans are so great. I am sitting at the bar and the bouncer (who I see all the time there) introduces me to a friend, telling him that I'm a Red Sox fan. Well, this guy happens to be a die-hard YANKEES fan, and it turns out he can't get enough of me. He wanted to buy me a drink, and talked to me most of the night. I don't know why; I was evil, kept bringing up Yankees stats, reminding him how his team had just gotten SPANKED by the Tribe, calling all of his shots... I was on a roll. I had a coy retort to everything he threw at me. So the night wears on, and he tells me "you know, you really piss me off. You're the most honest person I've ever met, and you've got a response to everything I say, AND you're a Sox fan. I have told you things about me that my closest FRIENDS don't know; I don't know why, I just feel comfortable talking with you. But I hate you anyway. And yet, somehow, I want to see you again."
Whoa, WHAT?? Yeah... he asked me out. I got asked out by a Yankees fan. Hell, I got asked out, period. And it wasn't even like I was trying to be sweet... I was a complete bitch, haha! So that's how it works? Guys really are gluttons for punishment, aren't they? Anyway, I agreed to go out with him (but took my time thinking about it, haha) and he said "great, I'll call you this weekend and we'll make plans." Since I'm sick of the crash and burn I said "Listen, if you want to call me, that's fine. But just know that I won't be calling you." (I really was rough on him, haha)
Anyway, after the Buns, he convinced me to go across the street with him to this other bar that he really likes. I really, really, REALLY had wanted to get to bed at a somewhat reasonable hour... so much for that. I got home around 3. No worries - I went to bed in my apartment, by myself. I'm not that crazy. But tomorrow apparently I'm going out with this guy... and I'll be wearing my Schilling jersey. And wherever we end up going, baseball had better be aired on the TV. ;) I will keep you posted on this situation.
I think that's all I have to report. But it's a good enough curve ball for most of my friends in this audience that I figure you'll appreciate the update!

P.S. It may still be a while before I update again; between the wedding, the courses I'm taking, the Trinidad trip on the horizon, and everything else in my life, I might not be able to post soon. But I promise details for my fans ;)
