I'm rather pleased that my Flickr Code blog post on the Astrometry.net project seems to have excited a lot of people. It's an exciting project and deserves the attention it's getting.
I had a whole section on how it actually worked that I dropped at the last minute. Diagrams and everything. Even on the Flickr Code blog, I'm not sure people want a big helping of computer science, however appealingly presented.
The tone is a bit confused. I originally was going to open it with more jokey, sci-fi camp references, but all that remains of that is the title.
Still it seems to have worked well enough.
