This is a question for the other sewing dorks out there. I'm interested in branching out from making luggage to clothing. Tailored jackets, outerwear (athletic & formal), vests, and maybe shirts are what I ultimately want to make ( Read more... )

I've used the Folkwear pattern numerous times, both for mens and womens vests. It's a great starting point.

there are some useful tricks to sewing collars so tht the under piece doesn't roll to the front. when you get to that, i'll tr an explain or show you.

Yes, I've heard that collars are tricky! All those *curves* everywhere. Most everything I do now is straight lines :)
