It has been a crazy week for our family. The busyness has helped me look forward even more to our vacation! I can't wait to see my sisters, especially my younger one. I can't wait to see my mom, either. It's been about 6 months since I saw them. That's just too long! Oh well, such is life for now. Ah, but Chris gets 3 weeks of vacation this year since he's passed his 5 year anniversary at the church! Perhaps a day or two of it could go to an extra North Carolina trip (we went twice this last year). Even better, maybe my family will be able to come down this year. Of course, Ryan and I could go up by ourselves, but the drive is too long to do by myself and the flight is too expensive. Hmmm... for now I suppose we'll have to enjoy the phone and email conversations and just hope that God has different plans in the future. Not that I want to leave Rocky, but I do want to leave Florida. I want to live in the mountains. There's so much to do and so much to see! They never get old like the beach does. There's actually four seasons there, too. I can never get enough of the way the world changes through the seasons. Very neat. Seeing the Blue Ridge Parkway always reminds me of the fingerprints of God on the Earth. I can just imagine that one of His mighty fingers laid there to form the Earth. Not entirely Biblical since He spoke the world into existence, but a neat image nonetheless!!!
Tomorrow night, the Quinlan family will come to our house to celebrate Christmas! It's always a fun time.
It's also a bit overwhelming for me. I'm from a small, quiet family. We spend time together, but the decibel level of our conversations is about half of the Quinlans. Don't get me wrong, I don't think either way is better. It's just different. Even after two years I still haven't fully adjusted to it! I think the biggest difference is that there are usually several different conversations going on between them and I can't ever figure which one to listen to! Anyway, I've been trying to get things done here and there all week in preparation for it. I hope it goes well. Chris was really helpful in getting things cleaned last night while I was working at the gym! What an awesome husband I have!!! I suppose that I should get to bed so that I can be bright-eyed and bushy tailed tomorrow after all the last minute preparations!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
