vacation thus far has been surprisingly good! I definately needed a break from school, school+work every day = stressed out Kristen... plus is beautiful out.. I'm even a little happy that the bugs are buzzing around again :) I thought the winter scared them all off for good.
Anyway, I've been trying to keep myself busy. Here's the breakdown?
Friday after school I went to Sandra's to watch Ray with her, Andrea, and Mikey... hilarity ensued.
Saturday I worked 11-8, which was very hard work... but then Andy picked me up and we hung out for three whole hours! So that was a major accomplishment. I love that man.
Sunday I had work again, 9:30 - 5, but 9:30 - 11:30 ish was a company meeting so it shortened my day even more! Twas great. Then, at night I picked Sandra up and we went to starbucks for an intelligent conversation? Which never happened, haha, then Grace called so we went to hang out at her house for a while.. btw happy birthday gracey poo...
Yesterday.. during the day Kathy, Nick and I went to Newport to go to Cold Stone Creamery, then to his mom's house, which is exactly the house I've literally dreamed of owning one day. God, so beautiful. We came home around 6:30 or 7 or so, and then I talked to sandra and we decided to go malling, so I picked her up and we went to emerald, where I bought a beautiful painting, and the old DCFC CD, "The Photo Album".
Then we went to border's, where we sat on the floor against the bookcases and read poetry aloud to each other. I ended up buying an incredibly book of poems by Jeff Tweedy called "Adult Head", the book being a work of art in itself. I wish I could create the way this man does. He is now one of my many idols.
We headed out to DD, got some coffee and doughnuts, then I brought her home. Twas a grand ol' time.
Today, it was beauuutiful out so I started black boy. I got through the first (extremely long!) chapter.. then I just lay out in the sun and read some of Tweedy's poems, and listened to DCFC and copeland, and baked. I got the perfect amount of burn, I must say. I feel so good right now
Anyway, my day is starting to wind down, even though its only 5:30 and the sun is still high in the sky. In a little while I will go cash my check, and then see about some plans for tonight. If nobody's up for anything, maybe I'll just go back to starbucks and read in the corner. I fell in complete love with the atmosphere there... but I need a chess buddy! Somebody, won't you be my starbucks chess buddy? I'll love you forever.
Tomorrow I have until i believe 4 to do as a please, and then I must work for the man
...damn.
