The GRE is not hard, but definitely go over the materials so you are familiar with it. You'll want to spend a few hours brushing up on the math stuff. It's no harder than the SAT, but I think it's no calculator, and I am sure you have not done most of it in several years.

Get the transcripts sent out to the schools you are interested in ASAP. Don't wait until you have the whole application together. Transcripts take a few weeks, and they are easy enough to get out now.

The deadlines for schools vary a lot. You might have missed the deadline for some, while others aren't until summer.

Good luck :)

Agreed. (I actually scored higher on my GRE than I did on my SAT [and I did pretty darn well on my SAT ;) ]; of course, that was a long time ago...)

I did much better on the ACT than the SAT. I'm a really terrible test taker, so hopefully I will do well on this the first time and won't have to take it again!

Hey, thanks a bunch for the info!!! So I should go ahead and send the transcripts without the applications?

Well the transcripts are coming straight from the school, and usually take a week or two, so if you know you are going to get an application sent in shortly, go ahead and do the transcript request.

From the ones I sent in, you could send in your application and $$ right away and get the rest in before the deadline. Obviously the sooner you do it all the better. If the instructions specifically say to send it all in together than you should, but otherwise I would get the transcripts and application forms in ASAP and get to the rest when you can. That way they start a file on you. Sometimes teachers mail in their letters themselves, sometimes they give them to you to mail. Schools are used to getting this stuff in pieces.
