I have decided that I have to be one of the luckiest girls in the world. This week has been absolutely amazing with all of the opportunities I have been given:
1. I got to move in early because of the storm, meaning that I got my stuff in a day before I thought I would have to and I got to have dinner with my grandmother. It was a nice meal, and she opened up about how she really felt about my mom, which surprised me because she kept going on and on about how she wouldn't have wanted anyone else for my dad. That one is a big relief.
2. I got an interview with Brown University. There are only 18 of us chosen for interviews. Can you believe it? I still feel like my email was on there as a mistake. So now I have to get together an impressive portfolio to bring with me next Friday. Thankfully, my mentor teacher said it was fine for me to not go into the classroom that day so I could interview in person. Plus her classes are doing midterms, and they aren't even the kids who I will be teaching. No harm, no foul I guess.
3. I got an email back from Seeds of Peace (an organization that has a summer camp in Maine that brings together teenagers from Israel and Palestine to create peaceful friendships) and the woman said that I could have my class write letters to the campers during my unit on "A Separate Peace." Amazing!
4. Beck's aunt and uncle emailed both of us, and they are sending us to Disney for a graduation present! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Ok, I am a bit excited about this one. I know it'll be complicated getting schedules to match with grad school and all, but it will be soooo much fun!
5. I get to see Beck on Friday. That just makes everything better.
6. I am going bowling with a great group of people from SOS Sunday night. Sweet!
I am very very thankful for everything. I heart this week!
