"I expect and I believe/you're gonna run out of love/you're gonna give me the shove/cause that's the thing that lovers do." Long Line of Leavers (Caedmon's Call)
some recently written poetry
[seroquel]
when everything is new again
the springtime rain has fallen
washing with it sins of past
"I'd never" done in desperation
joining another in unholy consummation
tender stripes marring tan canvas
single silver strand caressing warm, red silk
obscenities murmured, shouted, cried
never to reminisce in light of eternity
yet memory acts as arbitrator
ever-present reminder
now hair hangs hesitant to show
sentiment scribed in furrowed brow
still throbbing wound, open in heart
biochemical solution dissolved in hydrogen and oxygen
lulls deliberation; the buzzing, dizzying glow
softly, slowly, sweetly drifting
out to unwilling dream
[love's haunt]
Worse than any dying love
The one that perseveres
The nights I find unbearable
There's an ember smoldering under your heel
It's the picture frame I fought to put away
A year later he clutches it under the pillow
Worn feet still wander through the dreams
How do you find your way to my dreams, little girl?
She treads softly
If my tears don't fall, please know I willed them to
How come I can't put you where you belong?
Pressed palms into your tears
Promising biochemistry dulls it out
No tremble to your touch
I'd still run out of time for you
Just don't know how to tell you
Reach for me in the dark
I lost you in the light
My soul can't run in dark
You lead me in light
Your green eyes catch me
Grasp my hand, little girl
I can't find you
You can't see me in the sunset anymore
You can never have it this way again
No flesh will taste as pure
Uncapture my smile
Keep your stars in the sky
Can't help but keep you close
Can't light your path anymore
Stinging, blinding, shaking, yearning
Come back, little girl!
Don't you see? I still need you
1200 miles won't see you through
Restore my heart for me.
