What's it been, 2 or so years since my last entry?
Hmmm, forgot I even had an account (that's a tiny lie, I check my friends page occasionally. How else would I know Nic is in Portland?) Anyway, there's probably too much that's happened since my last entry to fully encompass what's going on so here's a quick synopsis broken down into easy to digest categories.
Career/money:
Still in California. I left BD because they wanted to send me back to the East Coast somewhere (probably Maryland). I said no and sat in unemployed anti-bliss for about 8 months. Just when I was about to be dead broke, my car go hit by some joyriding kids who stole a Land Rover and I was able to get a nice cash lump sum to live off of for another 4 months. In May Tyco Healthcare hired me as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to help design for manufacturing and to write instructions for assembly for our plant in Tijuana, Mexico. It was cool, I was doing design work and such, but something was amiss, morale was generally low, and my contract was running out in 6 months. November comes along and I get contacted by a small company called Kyphon who found my profile on LinkedIn (like MySpace for professionals.) Go through a few more miserable weeks at Tyco, and viola I get hired doing stuff I like in a pretty cool company. Two weeks after I start there, Tyco not only announces layoffs... they announce a full site shutdown. Yikes! Dodged that bullet. Now here I am, happy and enjoying working for a smaller company for a change.

Still in California. I moved in with my girlfriend shorty before quitting BD being the main reason I wanted to stay in California. Its been over a year now and its still going awesome. We've had our rough patches (nothing says, "I'm sticking with you," more than sticking with me broke and considering having to leave california.) Tina's currently going back to school for a Graphic Design degree so our lives aren't matching up very well currently (she stays up late doing projects, I fall asleep after the Daily Show or the Colbert Report.) However she'll be on a month break soon, and we now both have enough money to go snowboarding.
Meanwhile, I found a pretty cool group of friends out here. I'm playing D&D again cuz I'm a big nerd; and since Tina is an indie movie and music fan, I get to partake in a couple of my favorite hobbies: concerts and movies.
OOOOH!!! I also bought a new car finally. A dark blue Honda CR-V EX-L edition (yep, pampered myself. Top of the line, 4WD, etc.) Its awesome looking and I'm glad I didn't settle for an element. That's it for now I suppose. I'll leave you with dates for my east cost tour before I go:
May 12th weekend - My little sis graduates so I'll be out in Philly for a bit
July 14th weekend - D's getting married. Yes D... Damien, Damien Amores is getting MARRIED!!!! That'll be the familiar haunts up in N. Jersey
Augustish - North Carolina baby!!!! Yeah, seriously thinking of visiting and proving that Cosmic Cantina Burritos beat anything I've had out here in Cali... I can't explain it either. It's like finding a Pizza place in Wyoming that's better than anything in NYC or a Cheesesteak place in France that beats Pat's.
September sometime - Supposedly its my 10 year High School Reunion... um... maybe
