Music is Resistance

It's always weird for me hearing NIN in what I consider to be "out of context" situations...

Two such situations happened in the past week.

I was walking down Albion Street early in the week and as I was crossing the road (Bourke Street), I noticed the music blaring from a car waiting at the lights sounded rather familiar. Soon enough, I realised it was "ONLY" and shot a stare toward the driver. Couldn't see them well, but I don't think it was anyone I knew. Dark green car though, so I almost thought it was Joel.

Then on the bus to the second Sydney Secret Chiefs 3 gig, some guy a few seats behind on the other side of the bus had his iPod up rather loud. All you could hear was all these weird noises and distortions. But they sounded rrreaally familiar. It was "My Violent Heart". I turned and looked at that guy too, but I didn't know him. Had various piercings in his ears and glasses, but no dyed hair or black clothes. He got off the bus at the same point as I did. But he kept on walking, so I'm not sure if he crossed the road at the lights and went to SC3 at the Factory or not (I just crossed the road from the bus stop because there weren't any cars coming).

This combined with "The Good Soldier" and "Vessel" playing in the Liquor store the other week, makes it feel like it's happening quite frequently. Mind you, with the new album only recently out and the concert last week, it's not surprising.

Anyways, that's a bit of NIN spotting in my recent life. Not actually important enough to post in the NIN spotting thread on ets though.
