Saw Hannibal Rising (finally), yesterday.
i didn't like the two actors (child and young adult) that played Hannibal Lecter, but the screenplay was written by Thomas Harris (the actual author) himself, so that's pretty cool. Not familiar with director Peter Webber, but i think he did alright... well, mostly. Some parts/transitions were too quick. And Hannibal is supposedly a genius and should've been portrayed as such right from when he was a child... instead of a goofy clumsy doofus who barely has average intelligence ...And stuff. i liked many things about the film and i'm glad i saw it in the cinemas. i actually sat in the front row for the first time (it was Cinema 3, which is one of the smaller cinemas at Greater Union on George Street. But it could've been a lot better. Perhaps someone should take the screenplay Thomas Harris wrote and get a different director and better (more suited) actors and re-make it into a masterpiece. Perhaps one day.
