A... KI... RA...
Went to the Opera Theatre in the Sydney Opera House today to see the anime cult classic AKIRA with live score music performed by one of my favourite bands, Regurgitator.
Immediately preceding that, I had a vegie(lentil)burger, fries & orange juice at City Extra. Tasted good but I think I gave myself indigestion & I'm still suffering the effects as I type.
It's been over ten years since I saw AKIRA before, so to some extent it felt like I was seeing for the first time. The large screen & dramatic music definitely made a bigger impact. It's sad to think that it was a one off experience. While I can always see it on DVD or TV again, possibly even on a big screen again...it wouldn't have all the touches Regurgitator added.
So fortunate to have been witness to it all.
