here's to the night we felt alive, here's to goodbye, tomorrow will come too soon...
last night was easily one of the best nights i've ever had. period. i was at a party because i was invited. not because a friend of a friend who i didn't know was invited. i was. by a guy who i had always adored since day 1 but was never sure how good friends we were. or if we were friends at all.
last night had the potential of being incredibly awkward. for him, for me, and for freyan. i never explicitly talked about going to his frat. we never even talked about the invitation or the party. and showing up there, i was afraid he wouldn't remember inviting me. i didn't want him to feel obliged to talk to us, to entertain us, and to make sure we weren't bored. i didn't know anyone else in the frat. the potential for disaster was enormous. i wasn't even sure how he would be. it was the first time seeing him since coming back from break.
and never mind the fact that i woke up an hr before we arrived. i was groggy and sick. and was terrified i would show up at an empty house.
but the night was good. yes there were random awkward moments when we couldn't hear each other or when we thought the other had said something but hadn't. but they were short-lived and i really enjoyed myself. there was a live band, many many drunken boys, a cozy fireplace, and a small dance floor in the basement. we drank, we talked, scoped out the guys, and danced. and pulled out the phone or the "we'll come back later..." to get away from guys. we were on the go.
and i saw my favorite guy again. besides alex that is. and amazingly enough, steven remembered me from months ago at their formal. he didnt remember my name but he recognized me and remembered that i knew alex. and then got alex to introduce us. and i felt like i was so in my element! freyan too! and it was amazing.
it's flattering that steven remembered me. just because i feel like...most people never remember who i am because asians supposedly all look alike. and he really is cute. yay!
so between steven and alex randomly coming over to chat with us, twas a very good night. and a very drunk boy telling us that we should go to their cocktail party in the future, we were verrrrrry happy.
i don't know how things will be with alex now. he did send me a message this morning to the effect of "thanks for coming to the party. it was good to see you again. and say hi to freyan for me"
