Papia was in pain today. I think it was just Mittelschmerz pain and nothing surgical, and she didn't have any diarrhoea or vomiting that would indicate it to be infectious. and thankfully it was just as we woke up, and not in the middle of the night. the worst-case scenario would be one of us getting sick - fever-wise (suggesting malaria) or gastro-infection-wise - with just the other one at home. Getting to the hospital would be .... hard, to say the least. There are NO STREET LIGHTS outside, it's a 45-minute uphill walk, there is no landline in the house and no number for an ambulance because there aren't any, to my understanding so far. And I especially don't want either of us to become malarious, because the preventative drugs we're taking - if they fail to work completely - mask most of the symptoms until like 60% of your blood cells have been affected.
