It's weird how, in one way, being obsessed about music or books or movies and stuff is about experiencing the moment. When you're reading or watching or painting or flipping out, you aren't investing in your future. Which is what most of life that is other than music or books or movies and stuff is all about: planning for the future.
So I was saying, it's weird how in one way all of that is when you're actually living life, i.e., living in the moment, but people think of them as 'escapes' and people who are obsessed with _whatever_ as having an 'escapist' mentality. As if the REST of life was more real.
But then again - I guess that's one other thing that's attractive about medicine - when you're giving someone fluids because they are dehydrated, that is also living in the moment, is it not.
