This journal is so completely empty.
I'm going to see Trail of Dead tonight. It's St Patrick's day. So I guess they'll be drunk. I'm going with Paddy, who doesn't know much about Trail of Dead. I hope he enjoys himself. I know he has mixed attitudes towards drunkenness.
I only recently bought the new album, and was playing the DVD that came with it. There was a 'home movie' thing in it, which my housemates and I halfassedly watched on Tuesday. For the entirety of the home movie, they were all drunk and disorderly and wasted, smashing up their equipment, making their tour manager irked at them because they destroyed their drums when he told them he wouldn't be able to replace them, and taking ages to record stuff, and advising one another to 'treat the song like a bitch'.
While my relationship with Trail of Dead has reached the unconditional love stage, I have to say there's a part of me that doesn't understand why bands break their own equipment. Equipment is expensive. I'm too frugal to be rock and roll.
They've culled down to three members now instead of four. I've been out of the loop too long to know why. I think I shall read some interviews and such to get the goss. But they've got a lot of extra horns and strings and choirs on this album. WHICH I HAVENT ACTUALLY LISTENED TO THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH. I feel unprepared. (As I am for the exam I've got tomorrow morning. Urrrrrgh.) I've got some time I guess, before I leave for Camden.
A Trail of Dead gig is inevitably not about the music. Although reportedly they do do some shows while sober. I am excited. The Trail of Dead gig when I was in the first year was my first actual real mosh pit virginity losing experience.
?gig,
one thing that i can depend on
