However, once Alex entered the room his earlier uneasiness redoubled.
Matt paused to turn on the lamp near the door before going to his desk and placing his briefcase on it. Then he leaned against the desk, eyeing the clone possessively again.

The desire, Alex spiraling, and the tender kisses were all wonderful.

You, Missy, are a tease. :P
It got me thinking, though. So far Min's Andorian style submission was always either in terms of 'I can't do anything about it' or 'I have no control at all', or at least pretending so hard it was that way that he convinced even himself.
But now, if Alex finds he likes submitting in bed, it will be submission from a place of strength, and he will not be able to pass over all final responsibility to his partner/master.
I find D/s dynamics endlessly fascinating, and Alex/Min's current situation really highlights this crucial difference, I think.

Hmm, I like that - "submission from a place of strength." In a way I see him as having done that already (although not as fully as he could), since he was choosing to be in that position and holding back information. There was that measure of control he held onto secretly, even as he was going along for the ride of serving whoever had bought him. He couldn't blame everything on whoever owned him, because who was ultimately responsible for why he was there in the first place? But I do see your point in that it would be easy to use the master as the scapegoat for whatever he didn't like about it - and further dissociate himself from responsibility ( ... )

Oh, I missed that aspect of it. You're right, he never made the distinction between sex and 'the rest of my life'. And living in a society that equates giving up control with weakness doesn't exactly help. (I guess in that respect your world isn't too different from our own.) It'll be interesting to watch the two of them sort it out between them, I'm sure.
