OK, so my alarm must have gotten messed up one morning when I was hitting all the buttons trying to turn it off, because it beeped at 7:49 this morning.
I jumped out of bed for my 8:00 class. Actually, today I had an exam at 8:00. Chemistry.
So I fly out of the building and down the road. The weather is gross. THEN, I realize that I don't have a #2 pencil or - more importantly, because a pencil should be easy to borrow - a calculator! I resign myself to doing chemistry without a calculator and arrive at the building, where I buy a cup of French vanilla flavored coffee and put lots of cream in it.
There's a line outside the chemistry lecture hall. I say aloud to no one in particular, "Does anyone have an extra #2 pencil?" Some dude gives one to me. I told him I could return it and he said "Oh really?" He didn't track me down and I didn't see him, so I don't think he expected me to.
Anyway, I get in the chem class, get my test, sit down. The coffee is balanced on the side of the chair. I go to fold over the desktop portion and - of course - spill the coffee all over myself! My lab partner, Ellie, was really nice and seemed concerned. I was happy because a lot of the coffee didn't spill, just enough to get all over my rump and part of the chair.
So I sat through the test with spilled coffee, no calculator and a borrowed pencil. Finally I finish, not entirely sure of all my answers. I hand it in and go to HDFS 190.
We're talking about factors that can influence children in the womb ("all the guys in your life will think you're really sexy when you're pregnant"). I look in my backpack for something to tell the time and there's my calculator.
And that is the story of my most interesting morning so far. Thank goodness it's Friday!
