Title: The Morning is Your Own
Fandom: Fringe
Character: Olivia Dunham
Notes: I'm not particularly happy with this, mostly because I am stubborn and threw in a pair of acoustic tracks that don't really mesh with the rest of the mix (the City and Colour track, and the most gorgeous song I've ever heard - My Girl the Horse by fences). The Janelle Monae track also sticks out, sound wise, but I love it too much to not include it. But oh well. Made for a challenge at
scifiland - go
teamsidekick!
o1. tegan and sara → hell
four ways to remove all the bad that we do
from the heart and the soul of the city side and cold
for ways to collect what we say and what we save
to discard and discover a brand new way
o2. miike snow → in search of
here's to living long enough to be
forgiven for the bones i broke . . .
i had to make a living
o3. company of thieves → quiet on the front
i can't hold a glass of wine yet
but they think it's fine to have me hold a gun,
kill a man
o4. state radio → keepsake
one gonna heal my body another gonna heal my pain
one gonna settle me down then bring me back up again
o5. steel train → alone on the sea
coming home from a month away
to empty cabinets and bed
well if there's love in this house again
then let the lights shine through the windows and onto my head
o6. janelle monae → cold war
so you think i'm alone
but being alone's the only way to be
when you step outside
you spend life fighting for your sanity
this is a cold war
you better know what you're fighting for
o7. city and colour → the death of me
people love to drink their troubles away
sometimes i feel that i'd be better off that way
'cause maybe then i could sleep at night
i wouldn't lie awake until the morning light
this is something that I'll never control
my nerves will be the death of me, i know
o8. kaki king → pull me out alive
the tyranny of trying to know
everything takes over the freedom of the mind
o9. phoenix → 1901
counting all different ideas drifting away
past and present -- they don't matter
now the future's sorted out
watch, you're moving in elliptical pattern
1o. fences & sara quin → my girl the horse
neither one of us will make it down this hill alive
