MH17 ушёл в историю, но попались на глаза три его недавних упоминания:
1. Выступление Зеленского в австралийском Парламенте.
"It is also necessary to improve the capacity of international institutions created for the responsibility of war criminals and those who commit any criminal act for which the whole world can punish in solidarity, not just one state alone. If this was done in time, life in the world would be much safer.
I am sure that each of you, as well as each of us Ukrainians, remembers the tragedy of MH-17. Malaysian Boeing shot down by the Russian occupiers in the sky over the Ukrainian Donbas. Then 298 people died. My condolences to all the families who lost their loved ones.
But was it possible to bring to justice those who caused this tragedy? No. They are hiding in Russia. And, obviously, received security guarantees from the Russian state. Has Russia paid compensation to the relatives of the victims? No. It still denies its guilt in the tragedy.
Eight years have already passed and justice has not been restored yet. And no one knows how much longer it will take for at least one tragedy to receive a worthy response from the international community, from all of us.
And how many more new tragedies has Russia created or will create?
It is often said that unpunished evil returns. I would add: unpunished evil returns winged, with a sense of omnipotence. If the world had punished Russia for what it did in 2014, there would be none of the horrors of this invasion of Ukraine in 2022."

Whereas, since 2014, President Vladimir Putin has violated the sovereignty of Ukraine and used military force to seize control and unlawfully occupy Crimea, and installed Russian separatist-backed forces in eastern Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians since 2014;
Whereas the Russian military was deemed responsible for shooting down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014, which resulted in the death of 298 civilians;

The Senate-
(1) strongly condemns the ongoing violence, including war crimes, crimes against humanity, and systematic human rights abuses being carried out by the Russian Armed Forces and their proxies and President Putin's military commanders, at the direction of President Vladimir Putin;
(2) encourages member states to petition the ICC or other appropriate international tribunal to take any appropriate steps to investigate war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Russian Armed Forces and their proxies and President Putin's military commanders, at the direction of President Vladimir Putin;
(3) supports any investigation into war crimes, crimes against humanity, and systematic human rights abuses levied by President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Security Council, the Russian Armed Forces and their proxies, and President Putin's military commanders;
(4) encourages the United States Government and partner nations to use their voice, vote, and influence in international institutions in which they are members to hold President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Security Council, the Russian Armed Forces and their proxies, and President Putin's military commanders accountable for their sponsorship of ongoing violence, including war crimes, crimes against humanity, and systematic human rights abuses; and
(5) stands with the people of Ukraine who have been affected by the brutality of the Putin regime.

3. Расследование о дочери Путина и ее мужьях.
По словам собеседника «Медузы» и «Настоящего времени», знакомого с ближним кругом российского президента, до 2014 года Фаассен и Воронцова несколько месяцев в году жили в Нидерландах. Однако, как утверждает источник, после того, как над Донбассом был сбит малайзийский «боинг» (погибли 298 человек, из них 193 - граждане Нидерландов), Путин якобы настоял, чтобы его дочь с ребенком жили в России; а если отец хочет видеть сына, пусть он чаще бывает в Москве.
«Фаассен к такой жизни готов не был, но выбора не осталось», - подтверждает, в свою очередь, знакомый семьи Воронцовой. Сам Йоррит в год, когда был сбит «боинг», работал в компании «РГ-девелопмент» над проектом по возможному строительству штаб-квартиры «Роснефти».
Спустя восемь лет - после начала российского вторжения в Украину - Фаассен тоже решил остаться в Москве, рассказывают источники «Медузы» и «Настоящего времени». Правда, с Марией Воронцовой он к этому времени уже разошелся.

Katerina Vladimirovna Tikhonova and Maria Vladimirovna Vorontsova are daughters of Russian President Putin. Tikhonova is a tech executive whose work supports the GoR and defense industry. Vorontsova leads state-funded programs that have received billions of dollars from the Kremlin toward genetics research and are personally overseen by Putin. Tikhonova and Vorontsova are being designated pursuant to E.O. 14024 for being the adult children of Putin, a person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to E.O. 14024.
