Hey you crazy kids!!
I´m taking full advantage of the free internet in the hostel. Most excellent.
After a rediculously long 21 hour travel day yesterday, I finally
arrived in Madrid in one piece. The metro line to my hostel
was unnecessarily complicated, and it took almost twice as
long as it should´ve. (I think.)
The hostel isn´t so bad, not as sociable as I had hoped, but
I have already met 2 girls from VA Beach that are staying
here for a few days as well. I might ask if I can join
whatever it is they do tonight, but we´ll see.
I had a nice long walk around El Centro, Gran Via, and
Malasana cause I had to kill a few hours before I got my bed.
I strolled over the the Plaza Espana for a bit and tried to take a bus back to Malasana,
but it didn´t go where I thought it would go. (Hence the walk
around Gran Via.)
The weather is excellent. Could afford to be a few degrees
cooler, but it´s nowhere near the heat and humidity back
home. It´s actually chilly in the shade!!
Had my first run-in with a creeper on day 1. I was walikng down Calle de Something, and this random Jamaican guy asked me for directions. Since I had no clue, I stopped and said I was basically no help, then he invited me for coffee. So I was like "Em, um... okay?" and he kept talking about relaxology, and my good vibrations, and how he wanted to " bring happiness to me." Yes, that is a C-R-E-E-P-E-R.
Well, I think I might go mingle or go for another walk;
there´s still plenty left to do. Peace Out!
