You Know the Drill

So I didn't do the additional journal entry I had intended to. What else is new?

I've finished Operation: Crazy Idea for Dummies. No, that's not the actual title of a book, but it is the Dummies book I've been talking about for two or three weeks now. I'm trying very hard not to be discouraged. Also, now my internet research for the logistical nightmare that is O:CI can officially begin. I need to make a chart with lots and lots of notes. And possibly a timeline.

This would be slightly easier if I had a more organizational mind.

Incidentally, I have begun Heat Wave, by Richard Castle. I'm not overly fond of whodunits and mystery thriller books, but as it's a spin-off, of sorts, of a TV show I enjoy, I'm giving it a shot.

Monday's movie was Colombiana, with Zoe Saldana. YUM! It's the story of a girl who witnessed her parents' murder. She grew up to become a highly skilled assassin -- with a personal agenda. I enjoyed this one. The only thing that was less than stellar for me was that her motive seemed based on a belief that her father was some kind of a saint when he was the same kind of criminal as the guy who had him killed. Rose-colored glasses, and all that.

Oh, well. Family is family, without regard to their profession. If you love someone, it doesn't matter.

TV has begun! Castle was fun, even though I wasn't as invested in the story told in the season premiere as someone would be who has watched faithfully throughout. It was good to see Penny Johnson Jerald again, though I'm not liking her character that much. Also good to see Michael Dorn again.

Glee's third season opened with a mild pop. One of the Glee Project runners up had a minor part to play -- that was kind of cool. I think they've set the stage for an interesting season.

New Girl, though the series premiere, was a repeat to me -- I had watched it this weekend on Hulu. Can I just say how much I like Zooey Deschanel? Also, in spite of the quirkiness that seems to be turning people off on the show, I would totally go out with Jess, the character Z plays.

Raising Hope -- Good opener for the sophomore season. The twist ending amused the heck out of me, too.

I didn't watch Parenthood last night -- I plan to catch it on Hulu either Thursday or this weekend.

Speaking of Hulu, I think I'm going to be mad at Fox. Glee (and prolly others) is on an 8-day delay, meaning that if a show airs on the 1st, it won't show up on Hulu until the 9th. It won't make a difference as long as I can keep watching the shows live, but the moment I miss one, I'll have to miss it live until they start airing repeats. (And as my improv classes start in just under two weeks, that's sooner rather than later.) Grr @ Fox!

I just hope ABC will be showing Charlie's Angels on Hulu -- otherwise, I won't get to see that one at all.

Ah, the trials and tribulations of Internet Licensing and how it affects those of us who refuse to pirate the shows we love. Or at least want to see.

I don't believe I have anything else to report. Life is still pretty non-existent at Chez Blake. I'll talk to you next time, Dear Journal.
