Here's the yawn-inspiring update on my so-called life.
Shows have gone remarkably well. So far we've only had two audiences who weren't awesome, and one of those two was a marginally private party-like situation, even though it was a public show. I only have one more show and the run is over. Surprisingly, I'm ready for the run to end. I think I just want my Saturdays back.
Speaking of devoting more time than a sane person, I've decided to go ahead and volunteer to "ML" for
Script Frenzy in its first year. It may be a decision I come to regret, but there we go. The only thing is -- and I just realized I forgot to mention it to the ML-in-charge person -- I have an out of town trip planned in the third week of June that would obviously interfere in my ability to be here and "do" stuff with the group. I'm told that it's to be a different feel than Nano Prime... so I'm hoping that also means less pressure (read: expectation).
I got to visit with the GooberSnarks on April Fool's Day. Guess who was the fool? I won't go into detail, because it would just make me irked again to recall it all, but the short version was that Chuck E Cheese is only fun for kids, and if my sister wants me to freaking babysit, she needs to ask me instead of thrusting it on me. Sprocket is all kinds of adorable.
Not much gaming news, except that flickguy reached 31 when I wasn't looking. Literally. I was in a group, struggling to keep up (the norm for me in groups), and when I glanced up, the blinking green "LEVEL" arrow was there. I didn't even see the explosion of light and big yellow "LEVEL UP" that signaled the transition. Weird.
Gabriel Iglesias is one hell of a funny guy. Miz Lacey and I went to see him on Friday night. Our table was stage-side! That was excellent, I must say. Martin Moreno and Noe Gonzales were there again, but they added another comic to the line-up. (I suspect he was actually part of the line-up before, but he had been in an accident -- an event he managed to incorporate into his set -- so that would have explained his non-presence during the October show.) I think his name is Kane Rodriguez... but I can't be sure.
However, the main event -- Gabriel -- had me choking again. This time I had the foresight to have some money handy and bought his CD/DVD combo pack. I've watched the DVD of his TV appearances, but haven't listened to the CD yet. He autographed 'em both for me, too. Rock! It appears that he's coming back again in early November -- Lacey and I are already making tentative plans. I just have to make sure those plans won't interfere with my ML duties during Nano.
So that's pretty much how life has shaped up for the last month or so. I'm so looking forward to seeing munchkin again this Friday... and then next week?
Spidey 3!. (Pardon me while I drool.)
