[She doesn't usually use her journal to address the whole of Luceti, but Katie seems to be lacking any company at all in their house this evening. She knows Sigmund is staying away, but the other one has no excuse. And it's late, and she's hungry. And wants company.

...okay, she's worried too.]

Um. Has anyone seen Edward?

[It's a good hour before Katie gets an answer from Sigmund, since avoiding Edward also means avoiding the journal. But when that answer does come, he sounds positively guilt-ridden.]

Is he not at home?

[And when she finally responds to this, your squire is clearly Not At Home, if the sound of those leaves crunching underfoot is anything to go by.]

Oh.

He's at home. The robots came to take him, but he asked them to come back another day.

[So he's gone, then. Sigmund isn't sure what to think about that.]

I'm coming home. [So it would be in your best interests to get there, child.]

You don't have to.

[She wants him to. But he went away for a reason, didn't he?]

I won't leave you there alone. [Lots of crunching twigs and general breaking camp sounds. Someone's on the move.]

[For her part, there's a distinct pause in ground crunchings. And then they start again as she turns and heads for home.]

All right, then.

[But did Katie make it back before he did? If not, he's going to throw this pack down and go right back out looking for her. Don't question how he'll find her in a forest this size. He's just good like that.]

[He will beat her home, actually. Only just, and only because she was hesitating to go back into the house with all the lights off. So when Sigmund re-opens the front door to go Katie hunting, he'll find her standing on the doorstep with a hand raised to knock.]

[He grabs her by that hand and tugs on it, so that he can sweep her up in a hug. He didn't mean to leave her here all alone, really.] There you are.

[Muffled voice, as she's all too willing to hug back.] Here I am. [She's rather happy to see him, besides.]
