[Have sword, will travel. Katie's in the forest today, travelling with ...a purpose. She's hunting for Sigmund's shoe. Though she's also looking just in the hope that she might find a Sanji under a bush somewhere, and may stop to pounce a spider or two (they may survive the experience), and eventually just make a tally of everything she can find

[Rangiku is under strict orders not to make her home in the bar. Therefore. She is out exploring until an 'acceptable hour.' Not that she really has any cause to follow these strict orders... except she won't really be comfortable until she knows this ground as well as any other place. So she is out wandering the forest today as well. Or she was.

Right now she's just... sitting beneath a tree, not quite asleep, staring up through its branches through lidded eyes. By now she's found Haineko, so her hand is resting casually by its hilt.

There's a beautiful blonde woman with a sword who seems to be asleep in the forest, Katie. What do you do?]

[That mean ol' Hitsugaya. Well, it's no fun stalking a sleeping person - they don't move, they don't look nervous. Also, Rangiku looks like she's sleeping in a bathrobe as far as Katie's concerned. That can't be too healthy.

Tiniest of pebbles sailing over from a nearby bush, Rangiku. Bouncing off one of those enormous breasts of yours.]

[And yes, she was deep enough in thought that she didn't catch that pebble - and she sadly can't help the instinctual starting awake.]

Mou. [She pouts. And equally instinctively extends all her senses to see - yes. There is something other behind that bush. Not a shinigami or a hollow, but other in the way so many other things were here. Digging out the pebble, she holds it in front of her face.] And where did you come from, little one?

[She tilts her head to peer back up at the sky.] Maa, I hope it doesn't rain pebbles in this place.

[Mwahahaha, she is very devious and sneaky. Only not. Rain of pebbles, you say? Here come another two.]

[Oh, it's a game, is it? Rangiku sees those pebbles in-coming, and lets them hit her. She's got a perfect reason to, after all, considering that she's staring up at the sky. She makes a noise of disappointed disgruntlement.]

Mmmmm. Maybe it's coming from the tree? [/brb, fishing around in bosom to retrieve pebbles - ah, got them. And now she stands, ostentatiously ignoring that bush as she stares at the tree suspiciously.]

[Honest to god, we swear the bush is not giggling at you. Aiming for Rangiku's shoulders, now. She half suspects Rangiku knows she's here, but if she's willing to play along, well.]

[And the pebbles score a direct hit on the shoulder blades! But, well, with giggling, that's just too much to ignore.] Eeeehhhh?

[And now Rangiku turns around to stare with a pout at the bush.] And now the bush is laughing at me. Maa, what an unfriendly forest!

[She totally fails at this ninja thing, doesn't she. The bush is possibly now shaking with laughter, which distracts it enough from throwing more pebbles. Which is just as well, because Katie had almost run out.]

[And then turns around as if the thought just struck her-] Unless there is someone behind the bush? Hello?

[It's a hand. Waving over the bush, before Katie finally decides to peek over the top of it solemnly and offer a grin.]

[...they did take them young in this place, didn't they.]

Good morning! [She glances around and leans forward confidentially.] You haven't been attacked by any pebble-throwing bushes, have you?

Hundreds of them. [Sage nod.] You have to be very careful in this forest. Especially if you're not dressed.

[Not... dressed? Pffft! But, little child apparently wandering around all on your own, you have engaged Rangiku's concern. Also, you have a sword and some sort of spiritual presence. Interesting.]

Aaah, I'll keep that in mind. [And she peers around the forest suspiciously.] Tch, shameless to attack people who are undressed.

[But then she nods in the direction of Katie's sword.] But I see you're not in any danger of that.

Oh, no. I'm wise to all the tricks of this forest. Even the bear traps and the tree-climbing mushishi...shi. [Are there more 'shi's she needs to tag on? UNSURE. But anyway.] And I'm a knight! Most of the time. So if you need an escort to the village I would protect you.

[Have a bow.]

[Rangiku does not laugh. But her lips do tweak dangerously upwards. She hides that by returning Katie's bow. Also - this child has the same accent as Ciel. Now Rangiku is wondering if there's a connection.]

Ah, but I am a shinigami. We protect the living and the dead. [And she grins at the girl, crouching down to her level.] But in a forest as dangerous as this, I think we should work together, ne?
