So Monday was absolutely horrid. I worked from 7am-1pm. After that I had to pick up my cell phone and re-enter all my numbers, and then have quick lunch and change. Classes started at 3.
3-4:20 is Ecological Economics. Seems almost somewhat easy, especially compared to my other classes. The prof is really nice, and there's no big projects or essays, so that's a huge bonus.
5-6:20 is Strategies for Reducing Global Poverty. The professor is old, and confuses the class time. He thinks it goes from 5:10-6:30, so comes in late and doesn't let us out until 6:30. Well I was planning on having 20 minutes to take the bus home, and 5 minutes to grab a granola bar or something to eat, and 10 minutes to drive back to campus for my sailing seminar which starts at 7. The bus doesn't come. At 6:45 I give up, and walk to the Vet Med center, stopping at Sparty's on the way there to get something to eat. My SpartanCash account had NO money on it, and they were SUPPOSED to deposit $100. So I continue on my 'not-so-merry' way to Vet Med center. No one there. That's where the rest of the seminars are. For some reason, this ones different. So I have Alan check my email, find out where I need to go. Show up 30 minutes late. Starving and tired, thinking this seminar is going until 10pm. Fortunately we only needed to be there to sign up for a sailing date, so the seminar lets out shortly after I get there. Then I needed to wait almost an hour for a bus to take me home. By this point I was nearly in tears because I just wanted to be home, and not hungry, and go to bed.
The class wasn't too bad, besides me not meeting a qualification to be in it. The prof is nice though, and there's only 7 other kids in there, and theres a few that also don't meet the qualification. Since it's a small class he let us stay.
Tuesday was A LOT better.
8-9:20 Environment & Society. Nice professor- he does all the work for you in getting an internship. It sucks that I have to work 5+ hours a week, unpaid, but it will be nice to get some relevant experience. LOTS of reading. Boring reading. And about 75ish pages of papers to write. But for some reason I'm kinda excited about the class.
10:20-11:40 Intermediate Macroeconomics. Professor sounds like Borat. Class will most likely suck. Huge nasty curve. top 15% gets a 4.0, second 15% gets a 3.5 and so on, all the way down to a 1.5. So I gotta work my ass off to get a decent grade. Hopefully macro will come easy to me, at least now that i've taken introductory.
12:40-2 Environmental Ethics. Thought I was going to shit my pants about this course. Sounded scary as hell. The professor is really nice, and already on the first day I was speaking up and making good points/etc. Plus I know 2 people in there. One not so much, but the other Iived on my floor sophomore year. Not much reading in the class, and probably only 30 pages of papers, if I recall correctly.
Went home after class, got some pool time in. Then I went to my official sailing seminar at 7. In the right room this time. Talked to Capitan Joe a lot before class started. He's a total stoner, so I naturally got along great with him. The class will be SOO easy and fun. There's an exam, but basically he told us to show up and we'll pass. SWEET! I also met a super cute guy and since I couldn't go sailing on the date I chose Monday, I signed up for his. of 16 students, 12 of them are guys. Woohoo!!! That's some good odds!
I guess that's it for classes/stuff. I should get going and finishing up the last of my readings for the week. Will probably go to the pool after class tomorrow again, and then Friday. There's a DKE party Friday which I might go to, but I'm not too sure about the frat party thing anymore. Football game on Saturday, and I'll probably be hanging out with John later that evening.
P.S. Cute boy at work is starting to get REALLY friendly. Like, ALWAYS talking to me. And I work with him M/Ws for the rest of the semester...
