Back to Reality
So after a 10 day break I am back to work. It was an awesome much-needed trip home. My birthday celebration was fantabulous, but I'm glad it's over now. I'm broke from all the 'entertainment' and my liver is probably calling mercy. I feel bad because despite the fact that I was home for a whole week, there's a lot of things I didn't get to do and people I didn't get to see. It's the one reason I hate living so far away. There's so much to do and so little time- even a week isn't enough.
My aunt/uncle came up from Maryland, so I got to see them (who I haven't seen for 3 years now). I also saw my uncle who came up from Florida. Not very often do the Strohms get together, it's been awhile since I've seen that much family at once.
I also spent a lot of time with my sister. Things are always iffy between us, but I'm glad to say that we're on a good note now. I spent a lot of time with her as well because us getting along multiple days in a row doesn't happen too often. Got to know her boyfriend a little better too.
Fourth of July festivities were festive, you could say. I also got to go fishing with my dad, despite not catching anything.
Now I'm back in good ole East Lansing. It's really nice to be back, and I'm glad to be at work too. However, right now I should be hating myself. I went to Cancun (Mexican restaurant) with the gang last night. Food was awesome, though it was the only food I ate all day, so the 4 margaritas I had with it hit me pretty hard. Of course afterwards we had to go swimming in the pool that is closed since it failed inspection (just lights, and heating issues). Being friends with the night manager and maintenance guy is awesome because you can't be locked out of the pool if you have a key. Hehe. Then we continued partying til about 2am. I had to be up at 5:30ish to drive home before going to work. Surprisingly I'm not too tired (yet). Thankfully I don't have anything to do after work other than lay by the pool. My oh my do I lead a rough life :-D.
Also noted- I may have a date coming up. About damn time!
