I was originally supposed to work yesterday, but switched shifts so I'm working today instead. I'm really glad I switched, too. I was worn out after already working 7am 3 days straight so I probably would have ended up sleeping through work if I had to go in. Plus it was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS yesterday. 90 degrees, bright sunshine, and lots of wind so it was bearable. I headed to the pool around 11:30 and read my book. I didn't want to ever leave. I was so content just laying out in the sunshine relaxing, and cooling off in the pool. Around 2:30 I started thinking that if I spent too much more time outside I was going to get sunburned. So I sadly headed back to the apartment only to find out that I'm about as dark as I get over the whole summer. And it's only the beginning of June.
I didn't get burned too bad, surprisingly. But I've never in my life felt like I've gotten too much sun. I'm starting to resemble an indian. Dom, Candice, and I headed to a Lugnuts game around 6. We met up with Chris and a few of their friends from the lab. I felt a little out of place as I was the only one who was under 21. Plus, there was only one other girl there who didn't work in the lab. Oh well, I had fun. There were two kids there (about 6 or 7 years old). Dom saw them and their clothing (extreme ghetto, doo rags and all) and made a comment. That was before we saw their bling bling. It was also before they approached a group of college-age kids to ask for money. Then I noticed that one of them had a tattoo. A TATTOO!!! What paren't would allow their 7 year old to get an earring? Okay, well I got my ears pierced when I was around 8, so thats understandable. But a tattoo? Come on!!!! A very drunk Dom kept telling them to stay in school because school is cool.
We ran into 'Brando' one of Dom's neighbors and decided we were going to BBQ after the game. Turns out Brando's 21st is 2 days after mine (which is in just 3 weeks!!!), so I'll be glad to have another 'young kid' to party with. Seriously, Dom is the youngest person I hang out with. Everyone else is 23, 24, 25, and 26. Anyways. We didn't get to Dom's until 11, and I was scheduled to work at 7am. We had fun though, then Chris drove Candice and I home at 2.
I also learned that I may have to replace my computer's motherboard. Less than a year after I replaced the hardrive. NEVER BUY A DELL. I'm warning you. Unless you like having computer troubles and enjoy spending precious time listening to shitty music while on hold waiting to talk to an individual who can't speak English so you can do your best to explain whats wrong when you don't have a frickin clue. And that's my rant. All in all it was a great day. I'm just hoping that when Dell calls me back today to continue working on the problem that the person who calls can udnerstand what I'm saying. The same damn problem happened a few months ago, so I don't know why this time it would require my motherboard to be replaced. I think it has something to do with the guy I was talking to. He didn't have a CLUE!
Anyways, I'm gonna get back to work. Maybe practice up on sleeping with my eyes open.
