Ouch.

So, what have we been doing?

We had our first visitors, coth and family, en route to a very early morning ferry to France. As part of the prep, I spent a day running up pairs of curtains so that they'd actually be able to get some sleep. Ouch!

Who knows what they're thinking? I used, occasionally, to ride a fat little roan called Honey, who had three paces - shuffle, lope and flat out gallop - and she would walk past tractors without turning a hair, yet a fluttering piece of film on a barbed wire fence and she'd go three feet in the air.

We have looked out our boots and hats which are, stunningly, still useable and are looking forward to meeting the boys!

Who knows, indeed.

We've just been out to check on them again and couldn't see tGOtR at all, so it's possible that his owner saw the fuss and decided he should go back inside for the night if he wouldn't calm down.

GB and the baby are still very twitchy, too. I have a light fear that GB's going to manage to barge his way out of the stable in the night. Fingers crossed that he doesn't, although we have at least got a spare stable just in case!

Get Mike a small power screwdriver. Not a giant contractor sized on which will simply drive screws into flatpack furniture and all the way out the other side, but something like this which is what I've used to assemble a lot (a dozen bookshelves, wardrobe, desk, more shelves, etc) of IKEA furniture over the past year.

Screws that are too inaccessible to get the electric screwdriver onto, final tightening by hand, and screws tightened while the electric screwdriver needs recharging.
