the anne of green gables books are kind of perfect. so i'm glad they are the way they are. except, i can't help half-wishing that l. m. montgomery had serialized them to the degree of the baby sitters club (which i never read) or sweet valley (which i shamefully did), because then i could keep living vicariously through them adventure after adventure, because i really believe that life should be just like it is in green gables, and wish mine were.
