but is it sexist to call an unpleasant woman a slag? (I'm not sure and I would usually only use the term jokingly with friends or in the "to slag something off" sense).

I know but as insulting an unpleasant as it is to call somebody that, is it sexist? Because if one woman is calling another woman that, where is the sexism?

A woman can be a sexist by stereotyping other women as much as, for instance, a black person can internalize racism toward his or her own race.
